Tomio, 02 Jun 2023it's a good choice, S23 is a fantastic phone. For me ... moreyeh, im used to 1ui but the x13 is 200 dollars less than the s23. and I really wanna ditch wired charging and the x13 got the faster wireless charging. but on the looks, I prefer the subtle and classy look of the s23 to the very shiny x13. so it's software/looks vs price/charging. lol

Furkan, 02 Jun 2023Yes S23 software is much better it's a good choice, S23 is a fantastic phone.
For me it would've been a toss up for charging speed and price, but I have no doubt you'll love the S23.

Ram management is bad I agree but I can't say I was ever in a position to care.
I still stand by my statement of USB 3.x being an insignificant omission whilst still agreeing it should be on it.
As I stated before as well, you get the ideal charger with it.
The camera is not the best at its price but its still good I care little what reviews say about it I just speak from personal experience and I care a lot about having a good camera on my phone but I also realise how far smartphone cameras have come and that you simply don't need to have one of the best cameraphones to make great pictures.
Lastly, we're talking about the Xiaomi 13, not any other Xiaomi phone.
I know ads existed on Xiaomi phones I used to own an A2 lite that had them but its not on the Xiaomi 13 nor the Mi 10 I had before it.

In my personal opinion having used this phone since its release I think it's a good phone for 750 euro's, but yes I wouldn't have paid 1000 for it.
For the same price my other options would've been a Google Pixel 7 Pro or a Oneplus 11.
The Pixel I ended up not going for due to its slow charging cus as you mentioned overnight charging sucks.
The Oneplus 11 I didn't go for because I didn't like its design and the lack of an IP68 rating

When I updated to MIUI 14 my Poco F2 Pro boot-looped, 100% original. I lost everything, 2fa codes and every file.

USB 3.x isn't just a small percentage of users. Video out (gaming, external monitor, presentation, movies, very nice to have when just traveling alone), transfer speeds, and with the removal of sd-cards with limited- and overpriced storage - people use usb-c SSDs/Sticks. And there's no defense for why a 1000€ flagship in 2023 doesn't come with USB 3.x. If you price yourself up there, you better deliver the specs for it. Adding a 3.x port costs pennies. 1000€ phone btw...

And people buying flagships are a small % in the mobile market, people should get what they pay for. If you have 8-12 gb ram, there's no reason for MIUI to aggressively close apps in multitasking, it makes buying the bigger ram version more or less useless. It's not a lack of ram, it's MIUI - With no option to stop it without going to different roms.

Then there's the bloatware, Xiaomi don't even bother to take out the Chinese-use only system apps in the EU and global roms to ease the problem and wasted battery drain and ram usage. Just Google debloat guides for Xiaomi phones and see yourself how much crap there is, and let's not forget the ads on Xiaomi phones.

The camera on Xiaomi phones are bad, it comes up in every review on the minus points, that's just fact. Most of their most expensive phones doesn't even have OIS (Poco F4 GT, Poco F2 Pro, Poco F3 and GT, Poco X3 and Pro, POCO X4 and Pro, and more, all expensive phones)
Even the dirt cheap Samsung A series has had OIS for ages already.

And then there's the proprietary turbo charging pins/protocols that they refuse to share to 3rd parties so they can make chargers and powerbanks with turbo charging support that any other smartphone already has. Enjoy 15w charging. Saying you're okay with slow charging is a cope. Nothing wears down your battery more than overnight charging.

Then there's the poor, and at times degrading updates, but at this point I'm starting to repeat myself.

Your money, not mine. I know which brand not to buy next.

9/10 times buying from the official store means you're gonna overpay for no added benefit.

You can only monitor the official price as there are so many unofficial third party resellers in different countries. The vast majority of people, where I live either buy from the official website or from Xiaomi's official store in third party websites (which is often the same price anyway)

SkyFX, 24 May 20231000€? Pffffft! First off, RAM is irrelevant on MIUI becau... moreI know you're likely gonna see me as a fanboy but a couple of things you stated are either BS or don't matter.
Unless you're mix and matching cables and chargers you should have zero issues with charging besides lower output and it just being non-ideal for battery longevity(then again this goes for basically any phone), I know I never had an issue and it doesn't make any logical sense that you would, besides unlike the ''top brands'' you get the ideal charger with the phone.
In terms of things not mattering, take that overclocked S23 series chip for example, it takes a couple of google searches to realise the overclocking helps you absolutely nothing.
USB2.0 is only a drawback for those specifically wanting to use the features of USB3.x which is an extremely small percentage of consumers, but yes for a 2023 flagship phone it should absolutely been here.
Aside from the selfie camera I really can't see how the cameras are ''badly inferior'' compared to it's competition apart from I guess the Pixel 7 Pro.
That being said I do agree MIUI is not fantastic but there are plenty of ways to work around it's faults.

                                1000€? Pffffft!
First off, RAM is irrelevant on MIUI because it's the worst skin/UI to multitask on. Just their international ROM alone uses 3gb RAM idle.
MIUI aggressively kills background apps even with battery saver off, with or without performance mode turned on, doesn't matter.
And with proprietary fast/turbo charging that requires Xiaomi charger/cable with a special "hook" pin on the cable and female "plate" on the charger, so you need both official cable and charger, which will give you issues with any other charger/cable and with powerbanks.

USB 2.0, badly inferior cameras, bad with updates especially outside China, and #1 bloated skin out there, with the worst OTG transfer speeds with no video out (USB 2.0) - Dirt cheap things to add isn't there, Xiaomi skimps out on everything they can and still asking flagship price (1000€+).
And they think they can compete against the top brands?

Their game turbo app (v4.0) removed the function to see GPU/CPU usage in MIUI 14, and replaced it with an FPS counter that measures FPS only in the app overlay and not the game. It will tell you it's 60/120 FPS all the time with "before" 30-40 FPS when you know, and can see nothing has changed in the game. It's almost like they degrade their phones over time on purpose to sell you a better phone.

Stay away from Xiaomi/MIUI. Yes the latest SoC is tempting, but not for 1000€. You can literally get a Samsung S23 for that price with an overclocked SD 8 Gen 2 (5.3% and 5.7% higher CPU and GPU clock speeds respectively) + game driver updates.
