Can anyone suggest a USB 3.2 Gen1/2 or USB 4 type-C cable for Xiaomi 14 for data transfer purpose, along with 90W charging support?

Hi. I'm from Serbia, but I have an offer to buy Xiaomi 14 for 500e, which was brought from China and was made for the Chinese market. In Serbia, LTE internet will not work outside the city because the phone does not support LTE Band20 and I know that, but how is the situation with Google Wallet, Gmail and Viber applications and their notifications??? Is GPlay already preinstalled on the Chinese version or does it have to be done manually? How to unlock Boot Loader? Is it worth paying 500e for such an unboxed phone?

Anyone facing Camera fogging issue in India? I'm confused between S23 and Xiaomi 14. S23 slower charging is the only cons for me. So, I want to go for Xiaomi 14 but I just learnt that this device has camera fogging issue. Any opinions?

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2024I don't understand how people can consider this phone ... moreCompared to the Poco X6 Pro, the Xiaomi 14 is roughly only ~8.7% smaller. So yeah, it's not exactly more compact, but it's still noticeably smaller than most phones on the market.

"Compact" for me personally would be the Zenfone 8/9/10, and iPhone 12 Mini/13 Mini.

I got scratch on camera glass. How much would it cost if I need to replace it? Also, if I use a glass protector, would it affect the photo quality?

AnonD-1051070, 09 Aug 2024You have to factor that s23 is quite small. I had it before... moreYou're kidding right? The s23 is small? The s10e is small(ish). The iPhone 13 mini is small..Certainly not the s23

Klavs, 28 Aug 2024Hello, all, Switched about 2 months ago from Poco F3 to Xi... more
Like you, I've upgraded from the F3 to the 14, and I'm very impressed with it's performance. I too don't game, but wanted the 14 for the better cameras.
If your interested in close up photos, it's better to use the telephoto lens rather than the main. The disadvantage of having a large aperture on the lenses, (which is great for low-light and portrait photography), is that it gives you a very shallow depth of field, especially at close distances. The only way you can get a good DoF is by using a smaller aperture (eg F8 or 16). Even the 14 Ultra doesn't allow you stop down that much. My suggestion for macro photos would be to use the 3x telephoto and shoot from further away. Also by using Pro mode, if you select a slower shutter speed it will force the camera to use a smaller aperture to get the correct exposure, hence better DoF for your close up shots.
I'm still amazed at the ability of the cameras, especially in low light. I've taken trial photos in a dark room where I could barely see anything, and it has produced good pictures. When I used HDR it was like someone had suddenly turned on the light.
If you're used to the Xiaomi firmware, I think it's an unbeatable compact phone. It's charging speed and battery life are great, and so far ahead of Apple, Pixel and Samsung that I would never go back.

MindeDevill, 29 Aug 2024Did anyone have issue with heating? My heat very fast even ... moreI use the phone with the original silicone cover and I don't feel excessive heating. It gets maybe a bit warm(ish), but that is about it.

I don't understand how people can consider this phone compact at all. It's barely smaller than my Poco X6 Pro and weighs pretty much the same.

Did anyone have issue with heating? My heat very fast even in light used. Just web browser and feels hot in hand

                            Hello, all,
Switched about 2 months ago from Poco F3 to Xiaomi 14. It's been 3,5 years between phones, which are in completely different budget categories, but, to be honest, from performance point of view, difference is not that obvious, despite the fact that AnTuTu score difference is 3x (I do not use my phones for gaming). It is just that Xiaomi 14 is not bad, but Poco F3 is still great, powerful phone for todays standards. When it comes to cameras, difference is more obvious. Mainly because of the telephoto camera which is my favorite. As for the main camera, Xiaomi 14 beats Poco F3 in darker environment.

But the main reason why I shared my experience is because of a disappointment of Xiaomi 14 main camera for closer shots. The image is in focus in the center of the picture, but blurry around the edges. And the closer the shot, more blurry the edges (within the focus range).
                            Do you expierence the same?

Foggy lens >>>> Oversized curved screen display, with no wireless charging, MediaTek processor, and only 3 major Android updates

Sorry Vivo X100, my money's still on the Xiaomi 14.

The camera position in 14 ultra is good. It would be better if they were same.

Probably only taken 10-20 photos so far, but thankfully no lens fogging, which was my main worry before buying the phone. The fluidity and speed are great and the battery life is fantastic, easy two+ days of normal usage. I love the jade green colour, and got a high quality clear case to appreciate it.

Well, after a stressful time with a Xiaomi 13 Pro bought direct from China that wasn't a Global version as advertised and so failed to work in the UK, I finally managed to get a refund and bought a Jade Green 14 which arrived today. It took less than an hour to charge, update firmware and transfer data across from my old Poco F3. Although I was concerned about the smaller size compared to my previous phones, I actually feel that it is a Goldilocks size, with a really quality feel and screen, but not too large to hold easily. I'm very keen to try out the Leica cameras which was one of the main reasons for buying it.
A big shout out for DuLe whose advice was very helpful when I was struggling with my faulty 13 Pro.
