Great phone. I'm saying it again - great phone. But - no I've cares whether the notifications messages will have more rounded corners in the future update. Just get THIS done once for crying out loud:

    1) There should be an area next to the text box messages where the edge should be rendered inactive. Now, when using swipe to write text, in the text box (in messages), if you write a word with swipe, with a beginning letter from the edge of the screen (e.g. a word starting with "p"), it is interpreted as "back" and it always bloody takes you out of the text box.

    2) Make a way of seeing "only contacts with numbers" in the Phone app. Usually no one wants to scroll through contacts that only have an email, ffs.

    3) There's this damn "Workspace" folder that we can't delete, though we've never ever had a Google workspace account. Let us know a way we can delete or disable it. There's no option in the Google account or in settings either.

    4) The cutout feature in HyperOS is nice, but... copy only??? You can't paste that cutout image in another image from gallery!
Unlke in One UI and Pixel, where you can, yes.

    5) Make a way to delete app icons from home screen without uninstalling them ffs. For a clearer home screen.

Love everything about it except for the weight. 226g? far too much for a phone, which limits my choices to S24, everyone else seems to be obsessed with fat phones. Where is the flagship tech design to reduce weight? any fool can make a fat heavy phone with loads of features, lets have a light small phone with the same features. I can't see the massive price of this justifying the lazy tech in making a heavy phone.

The only downside for me is that before you had 3 amd 5x zooms now 3 and relativly very vlose 4.3x

That should be changed to 3 and 5 again for proper use. And if you ask me main cam can go to 35mm while ultrawide can get proper 1/1.28 sensor and go to 18mm which is more than enough wide for anyone. If you want more use panorama :P that would be sweet apot for sure. Or to put 200mpx 1/1.4 zoom back to 3x and add telephoto 50mpx 10x zoom camera that would make a lot of sense too.

It seems Xiaomi has removed the option to manage the notification sound management from the sound settings. Now I have to manually go and mute notifications of certain applications, and for the ones I dont switch off, the only option is to keep them at full blast. Seems like I am missing some setting option here, it is a common requirement and I think Xiaomi would have had it provisioned somewhere deep in the settings menu. If someone could help here, as I am new to Xiaomi. Earlier I was using Fold 5 but was not happy with the cameras.

              Cheers!!

I would prefer 35mm on the main. I suspect this would be challenging optically speaking on a type 1.0 sensor in a smartphone

Everyone cares abo... moresince bokeh is almost completely irrelevant with such small sensors as long as you crop and maintain the subject distance of a 50mm then you will get the 50mm look without distorting the face as that is a property of FOV and distance from subject.

Anonymous, 03 May 2025It's because the play store is really slow to update. ... moreBut i feel that still doesn't answer my question. Having two app stores is not necessarily good for a device as it's creating a two-tier system. And it uses memory and system resources (thus affecting general performance & battery life) as well. This is the same issue as how Samsung has decided to do. OnePlus, Motorola, Nothing and Sony still remains as having just the Play Store.
So, as per my original question is it any safe to install those updates before they actually arrive in the Play Store?
