Mark97762, 22 Oct 2025Nice! But why is it 50MP?? it has supposted to be 108/200MP... more108 MP is less flexible. They used it years ago in the Mi Note 10 and Mi 11. Good for daylight, not so good elsewhere. 200MP is hysterical marketing gimmick, defaults to 12MP binning and hasn't anywhere close to the optical clarity to reproduce even a sixth of the native resolution
50MP has larger native pixel size for the same sensor size, and the better flexibility. In part due to the 8K gimmick.
In all honesty, 24MP is all the resolution needed for all smartphone camera sensors, and the native pixels would be even larger and even better for both photos and video up to 6K - meaning there would be room to crop and still produce a native 4K video. Not a single phone has the lens quality good enough to benefit from higher resolution.
Gimmicks and marketing sways so very many, and ultimately causes our products to be worse than what they could be.

This phone is absolutely insane. It can literally demolish almost all games on mobile. Possibly even high graphics! 🤯

Luense, 06 Oct 2025Depth of field is depends on your lenses, not your 1" ... moreTrue, but we're talking 23-27mm focal length here. A 23mm lens on an APS-C sensor is much more shallower at F1.8 compared to the same focal length and f-stop on a 1-inch sensor.
The LYT-900 is actually slightly bigger than 1 inch, I'm not sure what you watched.

I have had the 15 Ultra for a week now and it is truly a well-thought-out design. The camera is also very good, but the when zoom changes cameras during a video, the video abruptly jumps. I believe this will be fixed in the HyperOS 3 upgrade coming up in November or December. Otherwise, the camera is excellent quality ... and this is coming from someone who had an iPhone 15 Pro Max previously.
The UI is very intelligent and the features are also useful. The build quality is also very good. I am awaiting delivery of a transparent case and a 9H hardness glass screen protector, but both came with the phone in the box, which is unheard of for the big three brands. Being in Canada, I got a 90W charger too, and a dual SIM tray.
Google Gemini works very well, which is one of the reasons I switched back to Android from my iPhone.
Xiaomi has done their homework, just like the other Chinese brands like OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo etc... The big three (Apple, Samsung and Pixel) are content to charge us massive bucks for little progress.
So far, it's [almost] everything I wanted. Hopefully, that skip when zooming during videos will be fixed in the next OS upgrade.

I don't think you understand photography. A true full-frame mirrorless camera would have too much shallow depth of field when shooting wide open. A 1-inch sensor on a phone is the best balance between capture quality and depth of field.

The scary part is that the batteries are terrible compared to the in-development Li-C02 batteries. Li-C02 would be around 3x more energy dense than Si/c and 7x more energy dense than Li-ion.

Greetings All. I have one question. I noticed this by chance, it could be just my ocd, but when it comes to the housing of the telephoto camera, it seems to be slightly, by less than a millimeter, even less than that, moved to the side (left in my case), is this also the case with you? I visited two or three official MI stores in my area, and along the way, there were a couple of tech stores where the 15 Ultra is sold. On almost all phones, the camera position was different; on some, it was strictly in the center, and on others, it was also moved slightly to one side. It is clear to me that the cameras have OIS and that a certain angle in the camera body is normal, but I was really interested in what the situation was with others. When it comes to pictures and video with this camera, everything works flawlessly, and zoom, stabilization, and focus, everything work without any problems.
