Xiaomi CEO shares Mi 8 camera samples ahead of the official launch
Mere hours before the official Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE launch, Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, shared three sample photos showcasing the daylight and low-light performance of the cameras on the Mi 8. Of course, these photos have gone through some kind of compression since they are shared on Weibo.
Present in all photos is the Ping An Financial Center in Shenzhen during the day, at dawn and at night. Despite the compression, we can barely notice any noise in the low-light images and detail is well-preserved. Colors are punchy in all scenarios and the daylight sky is captured quite accurately.
And here's a bonus picture, again taken with the Mi 8 and shared by the CEO himself.
If the previous leaks are to be believed, the Mi 8 should come with AI-driven dual camera setup on the back boasting one 20MP f/1.7 sensor and another 16MP f/2.0 unit.
In addition, the so-called Ubuntu Team account on Weibo has leaked a night photo of the Mi 8 SE that also sports a double camera configuration with AI enhancements. At first glance, the quality seems to be on par with the more powerful variant but we will withhold any conclusive camera assessment until both phone have visited our office.
