But to anyone who's experiencing problems or is planning to buy I'll say this:

Don't underestimate the importance of backing up.
Tech isn't perfect, there's always a tiny chance it'll randomly stop working and whatnot.

If you plan to buy a Mi11 today know this:
It's not too late, because the market is so stagnant - Mi14 is worse in some aspects than Mi11 because Xiaomi has become greedy.
My next phone might not be a Xiaomi if they keep going this path.
If you want a newer Mi, save your money and get 11 instead.
Also if you plan to buy this it's recommended (I'd say mandatory) you install a custom Xiaomi EU ROM.
It's approved by Xiaomi but it's a community mod so it takes some brain to figure out including rooting it afterwards etc.

I planned to have this phone for 5 years, but now after 2.5 it still feels and looks brand new despite all the work I did using it and all the heavy multitasking.
Apps used to require you buy newer phones every couple years to work fast, but it seems that both apps and phones have become stagnant, and don't require more computing power anymore, so my Mi11 might live 7 years (Amen) like in the good old days of non-smart phones.

Still alive and kicking after 2.5 years!
    Latest XiaomiEU ROM.
No overheating or any of them problems people here complain about.
Never got any scratches or breaks - all I did was put a cover on the back, and a glass screen on the front.
I dropped it at least a dozen times by now.
Never had any issue with this phone.
I took good care of it and it serves me well.
It's incredibly fast and it has better stats than Mi14... Yikes..
Bet Xiaomi regrets making this phone because after this one, all phones became smaller unless you buy an Ultra.
They even banned import of this model so that my Xiaomi local store can sell it for a premium price lol
I'm legit so lucky to have bought it.
No other phone compared back then, and today, it's still in the top because the market is stagnant.
Now they sell phones like Mi11 for a premium price under the name Ultra.

Previous phone was MiMax2, had it for 5 years, still miss that 16:9 ratio 😢 RIP sweet prince

Remember, people come here to complain about broken phones, so it makes it seem like all owners have these problems.

Bought this at a CeX to use as a phone in the UK. So far, it's a great phone. Battery life is quite poor and the phone overheats a fair bit, but the display is absolutely beautiful. I am however stuck on a February 2024 security patch.

xiaomi mi 11 or honor 90? i want good software but performance at the same time

NeonHD, 02 May 2024If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you could ... morei should've done that too when i was changing the battery on my mi 11, ill have to open it again sometime soon anyways so im gonna put some arctic MX-4

I made this repair tutorial for anyone whose Mi 11 died from deadboot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP5MNY3AI6Q

I was actually gonna buy this phone back in the day it took a while to come tho

                      Update on my deadboot problem:

So I did what that guy below suggested and ordered a new motherboard. Yesterday I did the mobo replacement and it was quite easy to do. Now I'm back to using my Mi 11 like normal again.

So if you don't mind opening up your phone, this is honestly a very cost-effective solution. Luckily it seems that Mi 11 components are super cheap to buy. The motherboard only costs $50 on Aliexpress. And it's only $30 to replace the cameras.

If anyone plans to do this, make sure to apply a generous amount of thermal paste. Because when I opened mines, there was just a tiny amount of thermal paste on it. I guess that explains why mines deadbooted.

Chams Eddine, 26 Apr 2024I'm using this crap since 2021 and I'm suffering ... moreIf you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you could tear down your Mi 11 and put some well-needed thermal paste on the motherboard. That's what I did. Hopefully this should improve thermals.

I'm using this crap since 2021 and I'm suffering with overheating and software issues this is the worst flagship I've ever had, just don't buy it.

I just bought the 12/256 version from the official Mi Store on AliExpress for $169, and I'm just straight up gonna sell it as soon as it arrives after reading all these horror stories about the deadboot issues. I should've done more extensive research before even buying, but I'm not taking any chances with Xiaomi's horrendous PCB design now that I've already made the purchase.

If you're on this page after coming across the low prices on AliExpress, you should probably stay away from the Mi 11. Take people's experiences and learn the easy way, because those tempting prices are probably because of these massive deadboot problems. You've been warned.

NeonHD, 02 Apr 2024HAH. So it turns out that the people here were not kidding ... moretry looking to replacement motherboard if reballing is not an option, they cost around $60 on aliexpress

HAH. So it turns out that the people here were not kidding about the deadboot issues after all.

My Mi 11 just died today. It randomly restarted, the display began turning green, and then I couldn't power on anymore.

I was too overconfident. I thought it would never happen to me, but it did.

It seems that this deadboot issue is much more common than you'd think. The probability must be very high on the Mi 11.

I have to admit, you guys were right. I can only blame myself for taking the risk despite the warnings.
