Anonymous, 17 Jan 2021I think every phone manufacturing company should ditch wate... moreSony has a slot for external SD cards. They also kept their phones waterproof. In fact some of the phones also had one. I don't see why is that a problem.

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2021If this is the case, and I'm not saying it isn't,... moreThere's been hardly anyone mentioning it because nobody looks into the thermals of phones. However, there's been a slight update and that may change everything. Not a lot of info to go off of.
This whole issue came to light when a guy called Golden Review tested it and saw that it was heavily thermally throttling causing unstable performance in most games. Then I noticed another video where a guy (called TechNick) was doing a battery drain test and saw that it reached up to 64.5 degrees celsius. Where at the same point the other phones were only reaching less than 50 degrees.
However just today I saw another video from another guy who also did a test earlier and noticed the thermal throttling, but in this new video he just posted he shows there's been an update, and it seems to be fixed? However I'm not certain. For one he's only testing it in games, where there's frame limits and things that could potentially not cause the phone to be fully stressed. Secondly he's not comparing it side by side with the previous update or any other phones. Third, this is only one video. There's not a lot of information on this.
However if the video is true and the issue has been patched, it changes everything. I'm just not certain with how little information there is.

joe nodden, 17 Jan 2021Quick warning y'all, this phone is an inferno thanks t... moreIf this is the case, and I'm not saying it isn't, then surely every review would mention this overheating problem.?
Maybe it only happens under extreme usage conditions, which is why the majority of people don't seem to have reported any issues.?

Quick warning y'all, this phone is an inferno thanks to Samsung's terrible Snapdragon 888. (Samsung, because Qualcomm switched from TSMC to Samsung and as a result, ruined everything)

the only two things missing from this phone are a 4k selfie camera and an ip rating. I aint too bothered about the latter but please Xiaomi provide us a 4k front camera for the mi 11 pro!! Had the mi 11 ultra, was very proud in showing off the main camera and video footage to IOS friends haha. Unfortunately got slightly embarrassed tho when I tried the same thing with the front camera:((

Why Xiaomi you remove 3.5 mm jack, a bulky RAM hungry MIUI 12, remove sD card option, bulky 6.7 inch phones, where is compact phones like Redmi 3s in 5 inch size you put 4100 mah battery but today.... In 6.7 inch phone battery should be minimum 5000+...

MI series 6, 7, 8, se, 9, 10 ultra all are good phone but you not launched in Indian market a single phones but you launched e-garbage confusing Resmi series..🙏🇮🇳

Phone seems interesting but this little point is a deal-breaker for me:
3.5mm jack - No
I can't charge a phone using USB-C while using a dongle and headphones. And I don't want to spend another $400-500 on decent bluetooth headphones. As for USB-C headphones... does my PC have USB-C for headphones? Nope, it has lots of 3.5mm plugs. Does my laptop have a dedicated USB-C port for headphones? Nope, most models have 1 or 2 3.5mm plugs (shared or split connector for headphones and microphone). So I'm not buying a phone that doesn't have 3.5 jack.

Habib, 13 Jan 2021No Water Proof and this will be the main drawbayNo official waterproofing, but Xiaomi does put in all the features that make a phone waterproof, check JerryRigEverything's teardowns. It's mainly because if you're officially waterproof, the end user is allowed to claim water damage under the warranty, which is a big no-go unless you have the legal team to prove that it was outside of the rated spec.
