      Wanted to love this phone but sadly it does not work on United States bands. Now the fight for a refund.

        This and the regular & pro Mi 11 models are my favorite flagships of 2021.

        Even after the release of the Pixel 6 Pro, the Mi 11 series is still my absolute fav. Very good flagship-worthy specs, and the design is my cup of tea. I once criticized the gigantic camera "island" on the back of the Ultra, but honestly it really does fit in well with the design; it feels completely justified and not arbitrary.

Transfering 160 GB of data via USB 2.0 will take around 1 hour, while the USB 3.0* can cut it as short as 6 minutes.

          It's shameful for a flagship device today to only have USB 2.0, that also applies to Apple as well as they're even worse by sticking with USB 2.0 Lightning.

          *as long as both the origin's and target's storage are fast enough.

              Was debating whether to get the Mi 11 Ultra or the Note20 Ultra for so long, then finally got the Note solely because it has an SD card slot. Also, the Note's rectangle design is just so much better than these rounded corners.

WhatsApp? discord? reddit? etc.???? every single social media platform had a leak, even educational platform I used to use a while ago. But, i'd say that I have nothing that is really concerning to the hacker other than money or blackmail. which I have all of that secured with 2 steps of login at least. so if my data is leaked, that's bad but not too bad. and google cloud is so far one of most secure.

                However, if you are concerned about privacy! you should disconnect your internet completely. do you know that last year there was a hack method using team viewer (if you have it installed, even if not running in background of any platform), people can open your computer and access all your files and documents, and if you have any stored passwords, logins to bank or emails, autologin to paypal or anywhere, then you are screwed. no antivirus or firewall was able to block it because it was through a confirmed access (by the bug used by hackers through teamviewer). so, it is a matter of luck and your own care, and not totally to the cloud platform its self.

                I already need my cloud so it does not bother me, paying 25$/year is not an issue to me. that's 2$/ month for free access to all of my phone back up, videos, photos, and everything on my phone. and I share cloud capacity it with family too with up to 6 devices plus me. I don't think that's expensive. and if the cloud is about to run out of capacity, I do not upgrade to higher tier, I simply just empty it from my computer at anytime to external hard disk. (no cable from phone to computer is needed, just login to drive and download).

                I am not that guy to listening to music that really need the cable connection quality. so that is useless for me, doesn't bother me at all and quite happy with my cheap 25$ Bluetooth head set that I bought almost 2 years ago.

                I disagree with your last point, Oneplus is a great device that I used for long years. Huawei is one hell of a device that I didn't go with just because of lack of google services. so as I mentioned in previous comments, it is a matter of personal preference and experience.

                I totally respect your needs and privacy, which is different from my usage.

                My experience and personal preference does not mean that it would work with everyone. it is your choice, your preference, and your own experience. My recommendation is to have a look at actual youtube reviews and tests and decide before you buy. if you don't do your research then do not show up trolling on others comments and preferences based on your poor judgement, decisions, or lack of knowledge on how to use the device the way it suits you.

First being you're venerable to privacy and security issues. Most Cloud Storage platforms have already been hacked but few users are notified unless a major breach occurs, by then it's too late!

                      Secondly, it's not free, there's an added expense every month. Much safer and less expensive to backup all data on a physical drive which can be secured via encryption.

                      Bluetooth offers convince but that's about it. Bud Charging is a pain but more importantly BT will never match the signal quality of a wired connection, it just doesn't have the range of a wired connection. Bluetooth is a non-essential additional medium which audio signals must navigate, it just gets in the way for a true audiophile.

                      As for your other comments I'm not one to judge. Personally I wouldn't at this point consider any device coming out of China, none have achieved top tier status among mobile devices. Maybe in a few years, we'll see.

                          My opinion may have changed after using this a couple of months now. While the phone (+eu rom) is definitely great. The battery sucks. Yeh you can charge the phone in 30-50 mins. However, when you need to do this 2 or 3 times per day after normal patchy use them I think it is a negative. Even with the fast charging. The charge time is usually around 35 minutes but can sometimes be longer for some reason. The zoom is incredible. Eu rom is very free of bloat and customisable. However i have noticed simply selecting text and doing those type of things are less smooth than my old huawei p20 pro.

                            For file transfer - I usually use Mishare app, I forget then I connected to pc via cable last time. I have 1gbps wifi router, transfer speeds are so fast and works easy on shared network.
                            For battery cases - not both options are ideal. Better to keep 40 to 80% and use slower charger than maximal speeds. But as we change devices frequently - skip this step anyways:)

                              I was about to reply with nearly same what you've replied.
                              this is an opinion thread, for people who would share their opinions about the device and their experience, not for people who would read somewhere else and come throw some **** in here.

                              Experience and usage also differs from one to another. Everyone complains about USB2. honestly, how many times do you use the USB for transferring your data? have you ever heard of cloud transfer? this 2021 mate, unless I've travelled to the future so far.

                              most of their comments are useless, specially Battery. in 3 years time, if my device still holds 70% of its full capacity, I am more than happy with its charging speed, why would I go with Sony or any other sloth speed charger? (no complains about Sony or any other brand). oh, my device is running since April with heavy daily usage and good number of charging cycles, it is still holding 100% of battery capacity. I wonder how much it will drop by a year time, and in 2 years time at this rate.

                              Btw, a question for experts, not for Trash talkers; which is better for battery life of the following cases?
                              1- Fast charging, connect when required and disconnect when fully charged.
                              2- Slow charging, over night charging and staying on charger all night long after fully charged, (lets see 3-5 times per week, not full week as some people will complain and say they never do it over night, so lets believe half the lie).

                              Headphone Jack, why? just why? have you ever heard about Bluetooth? no it is not a tooth that is blue, it is a wireless communication that advanced in the 20th century first decade, which is long time ago. and now you can buy some cheap really good wireless (Bluetooth) headset for so cheap. I am using oneplus wireless z, and it is working like a charm, I got it for really cheap price once released, and is half price now.

                              stop trolling guys, grow up, go give your opinion on your preferred device, not other places.

                              I totally agree that a very small number of people had bad experience with a few issues here and there. which I haven't seen at all. and I give this device both my thumbs up.

                                WRONG. In camera app there is proper manual video mode. Can't be compared to Sony's, but still Sony's are not good compared to mcpro24fps etc, which kicks ass with other devices like mi or especially LG!
                                4) instead of 4K@120, xiaomi chose to offer 8K . Which not even 0,000000001% of computers have power enough to handle.
                                Yeah, this is BS. as the device is capable of that.. shame for xiaomi of not including this.
                                5) Well, that's not technically correct of theoretical speeds. Have both Mi 11U, had S21U - file transfer speeds through the cable (I have USB C 3.2 cable and port on PC) were mostly different like 1.5-2 times at max. Not much noticable. More noticable is HDMI from USB lack. But iphones does not have that,too :)
                                6) Well microphones does have wind filter, and its one of better working devices then recording in those situations - wind, concerts etc. MI 11U doesnt dissapoint me on that, probably first xiaomi phone for that.
                                8)with CH beta rom you finally can record videos too. I believe it will take much time to have it on global versions. I think the limitation comes from this small screen.
                                Also with current fw you can press and hold shutter button (volume) this would record up to 15s, sadly ;/
                                80% after 2 years is no bad. Not many uses those devices up to that time, actually. This phone will be bought by tech enthusiasts, who apparently changes their devices frequently.
                                Also, believe or not, with intense use Sony won't be at 100% capacity after even 2 years of regular daily charge basis:) Don't be a dreamer of those claims, see real cases.

                                  7) you cant film yourself while looking at the screen. Front cam quality is no near rear camera.

                                  No, you cannot do same with xiaomi.
                                  Xiaomi has other priorities like iOS wannabe UI and charging speed to make money by replacing batteries damaged by 120W.

                                  ** Xiaomi promises 80% after 2 years. Sony promises near 100% after 3.

                                  Losing 400-500mAh / year is huge failure.

                                      Had a Chance to use this phone twice once bought from Hong Kong with the first release then sold it almost for the same price..second time just swapped with my girlfriend in Taiwan it was ok but something was wrong phone was getting hot too easy..does it ever occur to you that may be some units may be defective or different due manufacturing process and location..may be..may be not..
                                      never mind against all odds, Mi 11 ultra is and was the best android flagship of 2021..pixel pro is a Samsung S10 plus and experia pro mark whatever is a Nokia from year 2000’s..Nokia was better though.

                                        Seriously.. the design of the phone screen corner getting worse and stupid these days. I dont know why they stay with big ass round corner instead of perfect rectangle ones. Dont what the benefit of it design. Maybe if my MI MAX 3 broke down someday, Im rather find the refurbish MI MAX 3 than all this so called latest tech phone.
