In fact, it's one of the best right now.

Very Very poor camera quality according to standard of these types phone. Samsung's camera is much better than any mi handset.

I already tried mi 6 and compare it to my 1 years old S7 edge (S7E). Here is my subjective opinion :
- Mi 6 performance was superb but it really get terribly hot if u doing some heavy task while the S7E was better at multitasking and always had cool temperatures (such as gaming, downloading, etc)
- Mi 6 not as simple as S7E (such as i can't make new folders on the gallery and copy or move pictures on gallery)
- Mi 6 camera was good but not as good as S7E (in dynamic range, shooting HDR, manual mode, etc). 2x loseloss zoom was like a child toy, when i zoomed in with S7E, i see no difference, even when Mi 6 pic compared with my Friend's LG G5, its detail was lose by a par (G5 have much more detail and foliage). Dynamic range was shot and mi 6 rely on HDR mode much (and more slow to catch HDR).
My only complains for Mi 6 :
- No Micro SD slot
- Buggy software (always asking to back up pictures even after i turn off back up features, and when i want to factory reset the phone, always saying checking your device location for a long time)
- The screen was too little for me
- The Camera was not so great (even losing from Galaxy S6)
- I think there is No Futures Update (my family using xiaomi since redmi 3, and no one got a new android update, only OS update, i don't care people says "an update going to crush my battery life or i'm not going to because it's not safe".

Anonymous, 23 May 2017Gsmarena fears to make a full review of this phone because ... moreErrr, not trying to piss you off but the last time i tried copying 50GB of music(using Apple's USB-C to USB-C cable) from my MacBook Pro with TouchBar to my Mi6, Mi Mix and S8 Plus. S8 Plus won the test.
Same thing happened when i copied 50GB of music to my OnePlus3T and S7 Edge. S7 Edge won.
So my conclusion is that research and development really matters...

Doesnt matter what material they use for the screen. IPhone 7 Plus, S8 Plus, Mi6, Mi Mix,G6,V20. Tried them all. And i have a habit of smashing my phones when i get angry. So i know best.

Dropped many times still ok, as i put tempered glass in my screen. Price when i bought is very cheap, not more than half of s7, with same processor. My decision to buy this is a very economical and perfect. Only one thing bother me, which i cannot expand my storage with sd card.

The gorilla glass standard hasn't been announced by xiaomi. Doesn't mean it doesn't have one (it is actually more water proof than the pixel and they didn't even bother to say that).
I am by no means claiming that it doesn't break when dropped. Maybe it does break more than s8 when dropped from chest height. But small or big, breaking is breaking and in both cases the glass will need to be replaced and its cheaper to replace on the xiaomi.
Tempered glass screen protectors are available for 2.5D glasses. Don't know where you looked for them. They are not different from the regular ones. The screen might be inferior when it comes to toughness, but when it comes to hardness its on par with the other flagships. The ceramic variant is harder on the back compared to other flagships ( less prone to scratches).
Lastly, I'd rather pay 3-400 USD less for a phone that is only more fragile than the rest, because i can just pay 2-30 USD for a good cover that will protect my phone even better.
You could complain about the cameras tho. They use good sensors, but neglect the software a lot.

Dropped my xiaomi mi 5c a week after purchase and screen shattered. Couldn't not get screen guard to fit it's so called 2D display. It is a crappy device. I'd rather stay with people who know how to protect money spent even if it means spending a little more. Thank you.

I was only going to buy this non brand phone to turn it into a mini tablet but like you said, there is no sd card option to even hold my install/files. It's a shame really, considering that it was the only factor that made me turn this 6gb ram phone away.

Nebra, 23 May 2017I was seriously considering buying this, but then I see one... moreManufacturers like to not provide the option for SD cards because of some real bright customers (sarcasm) who puts very old or cheap (in short, slow and crappy) SD cards in their phones. This results in the phone getting very slow and then they blame the manufacturer.
Xiaomi is still very new compared to its competitors. So obviously they have many haters (other brand fanboys). These people just need an excuse (no matter how stupid it is) to blame xiaomi and from xiaomis point of view removing the slot is one less way they can get blamed.
However, their phones are dirt cheap. Here in Asia the 256 GB ceramic Mi 6 with the gold accents is about half the price of the s8+ and the other flagships. Just get that and you wont need a SD card.
