I'm going to buy Mi 9 Lite after two months unless Xiaomi releases better phone in this price range. Tried Redmi Note 8 but it was slow and very uncomfortable to hold.

                  I love this phone. Why?

                  - Super Amoled Screen
                  - NFC (multi-functional, not just for payment)
                  - Very fast in-screen fingerprint
                  - Very good audio recording quality
                  - headphone jack / 3.5mm audio jack
                  - Ultrawide camera
                  - 6GB Ram
                  - Backlight Logo (xiaomi logo)
                  - Long Battery Life
                  - Very nice back camera (48megapixel Sony)
                  - Very good selfie
                  - USB-C port
                  - OTG support
                  - MicroSD support
                  - IR blaster (remote control)
                  - Very smooth high graphics gaming
                  - Super fast charge (18W upto 27W)
                  - QuickCharge 4+ support
                  - Beautiful Design
                  - Aluminum Build / Metal (not plastic)
                  - Updated Android OS
                  - and many many more...

If you are not the type of a demanding user and would not be nitpicking then, this phone might be just about right for you..

Do not agree with the article regarding competition.

Mi9 has no headphone jack, mi9t is ugly as hell. it is not a pretty phone at all. also no micro sd slot. ( at 128gb not super needed, but still nice).

redmi phones don't have NFC. the note8 pro has it in some markets. But it's even bigger than mi9 lite. also camera on mi9 lite is better than note8 pro. actually generaly i find the mi phones have better cameras than the redmis. they just have nicer warmer colors.

Mi9 lite is a uniquie proposition in my opinion. I have one and love it. only thing i would like is for it to a bit smaller, maybe like the p30. which is it's only other real competitor in my opinion. At least based on my criteria.

My phone's SOT is not very good(about 6-6.5 hours) as in youtube "battery drain" videos. I don't play heavy games. I haven't updated my phone to Miui 11 yet. Do you recommend a hard reset?

5¢ input. All manufactures should work towards battery optimisation outside of Google framework. That's not external applications such as CCleaner etc. I'm talking making our phones last the day using the mAh that's included. I want my phone manufacturer to say this phone will play a 1080p YouTube video for 8 hours at a brightness that is viewable in a shaded but sunlit area. That's what's required. A standard on viewable content in a set set situation. STANDARDS manufactures. STANDARDS for the people. This is 2020!

The Snapdragon S710 chipset is a 2.2Ghz octacore chipset that utilises a 10nm manufacturing technology.

While the Snapdragon is older it is based on a quality chip made by a manufacturer that has continued to be more reliable. Mediatek continue to achieve better thresholds but don't ever think for one second it's main chip better because it's newer. I don't hate on Mediatek and Xiaomi have embrased them of late with the Mi Note 8, but Mediatek have a way to go before proving themselves.

Don't all let that stop you from buying what you want or need. The Mi 9 Lite has issues I know of already. The screen at brightness drains the battery before the day and that happens when set to adaptive brightness, 3/4 or full brightness. AMOLED, it's great but when it's lit it's a bitch :)
