This is my personal suggestion to all of you.
If you got your new shinny phone, and you happy with how it works, the battery life and so..
DO NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE!
For the last 8 years, I am doing same mistake, only cause of the stupid notification on the phone, that there is new version for the software.
I had HTC one , the first model, that called m7 if I remember it right , would hold the phone on single battery charge for 2-3 days. While using it for calls, music, video.
After update, it would lose 3-5 % on night stand.
Same with HTC M8 .
Now, about 7 months ago, after long debate with my self, I got my self, the Xiaomi Mi 9T .
I really was happy with it, the speed, battery life.
It would hold 2.5 days , on heavy usage (Mine usage) which, is , skype always online, whatsapp, music, Waze, emails. Youtube.
FOR 2.5 days! It was perfect.
But then, NEW UPDATE MIUI 11.
Jesus. the phone hold now more or less 1 day!
GRRRAAA..
I am actually thinking to sell my old one, to get same exactly phone, just for it to have the OLD 9 android version MIUI 10 out of the box .
So I suggest you, find a way to disable notification, but do not update it! Possibly root to stop OTA downgrades

Every one know, ok not everyone, when you use old device, and use some new technology on it, new OS features like MIUI 11, no one would change the phones. Manufacturers such as Apple Sunsung Xiaomi all they care about is new sales and profit. It is called "planned obsolescence".
JUST US OS YOUR NEW PHONE CAME WITH & NEVER UPDATE

How is Xiaomi's planned obsolescence going. Are you experiencing phone lag in performance, overheating, battery drain, slow charging, Boot loop, freezing, or phone restating on its own with each and every new updates oh! I mean new downgrades especially with MIUI 11.0.1.0

just one word to define it, AMAZING!!! i am a tech blogger but unfortunately till now i never used a Xiaomi phone. my S10+ lost and i needed an android urgently without breaking the bank since i want to wait for S20 to be launched. bought this phone and i am blown away with the performance. The screen is even better than my girlfriend's P30 Pro, image quality of camera is above average. night mode takes amazing pictures. no stutter or lag whatsoever in day to day use, i dont play games so i cant say anything about the gaming perfomance. but for an average user to use social media only and calls this phone is amazing bang for the buck i have seen in forever. i guess i am gonna keep it in my side pocket for longer than what i decided earlier since its my secodary phone and gets the job done efficiently beside my 11 pro max. The notchless amoled, the camera, the fluid performance and i can go on and on. great job xiaomi. its handsdown better than Huawei midrangers anyday.

DroidBoye, 20 Jan 2020Could that be due to a tempered glass? It could be, but I cant tell because I am using my phone with protector since I bought.

Hello,
PLEASE, I need some serious help. I received my Mi 9T today. I am DESPERATE with
the lock screen, having the following 3 MAJOR issues:
1. I have a stupid "Swipe up to unlock" screen, before I get to enter my password. I only found how to get rid of it, if I am not using any screen locking method. But as soon as I choose a password, it is back again. HOW do I get rid of it, so I directly get to see the keyboard for entering my password ?
2. I need to use a secure password (containing numbers as well). The keyboard on the lock screen only has letters... How do I get the additional line with numbers ?!? On 6.4" screen there is a plenty of space for that !!!
3. I seem to be faster than my phone - when I quickly type in my password, the phone gets stuck after the 5th character and I must type my password VERY SLOWLY for the phone to grasp it !! HOW is this possible ?!? Are we in 2020 or in 1970 ?!?
Many thanks to ANYONE who is able to get this solved !!
