Ben, 01 Jan 2018No compas sensor ?Got compass sensor, 100% confirmed as I test it with 2 compass apps & Google map navigation.
Who ever tell you MiA1 has no compass just slap them with your slipper

When my phone is locked my friends easily to on hotspot , on or off internet and some others

Ashok , 01 Jan 2018After update oreo battery draining fast Yes, battery drains even the phone are in idle.
Example when the phone still in Nougat when I left it idle for 3 hours the phone will drop from 100% to 98% but now when it's on Oreo the battery drained from 100% to 93% in 3 hours idling.
Those who have yet to update to Oreo, it's better to hold on until Xiaomi Google solve the issue & bugs.

don't worry if you have already update with try to clear data on Google Services Framework and force stop it.
You need to do a Factory Reset to solved the problems like App force closed.

Just wait for your notification, don't keep on check for updates, the more you press the longer the wait, let the update check automatically.
Actually the Oreo update just bring some minor changes & there is some bugs in initial batch, let Xiaomi & Google rectify the bugs, update when you have the notification.
Among the bugs are
1.) location icon can't go off after you no longer use GPS. (can't goes off even reboot, luckily only involved the very first batch).
2.) Call widget went missing from the home page (this you can bring it our again from apps drawer),
3.) No more clear cache function (this you can install Xiaomi file explorer which have the clean function )
4.) Battery life seem drained faster compare to Nougat.
Other I am still exploring.

Just clear Data of google services framework + force stop it. Restart the phone . Check for updates . There you have it Andriod O.
