I don't understand the complaints about slow updates.. Why would you care?? I've been using a Samsung Note 3 up to now with Android 4.4 for the last 3-4 years with NO ISSUES WHAT-SO-EVER. All the apps I've installed have worked flawless including some demanding (orux maps with 750mb map installed for example). The Xiomi A1 phone looks sleek, makes great pictures (definitely an update over Note 3) I like the manual settings as well, the screen is big and bright, no bloatware (as with samsung phones for examples) The only con that I can think of and it's not really a con just a design preference is - the camera lens are sticking out about 1mm from the body which will easily get them scratched if no case is used and I don't like cases because they make phones bigger and uglier.

Sometimes speaker or torch gets automaically on while talking.

I am very disappointed with this phone (Mi A1). Its getting in every minutes and after. I am unable to receive call. button to pick the call works rarely. It is unable to open the background button and even the battery backup is quite poor. I am totally disappointed. I would suggest you not to go with this phone

OMGush, 23 May 2018I have the A1 and Xiaomi is slacking off with it's Android ... moreXiaomi is very crappy on updates .They update most of their phones but not in time.They takes a lot of time to do it with issues. Xiaomi and Google tried but they only succeeded at selling the phone but now they are ruining it by cheating with us . Nokia also releases a bunch of Android one phones but they managed to update the phone at time with no issues .
Mi a2 is coming with sd 660 and a good display along with a great camera but I'll not buy that . Nokia 7 plus is a better option to choose except a higher price .

Anyone else having problems with the phone apk.
When receiving a call and the home screen is in standby there is no button to answer the call. To answer a call, I must swipe the screen, open the phone app, press the call button and then press to make a call and then press to hear a call....by then whomever was calling me has put their phone down and I need to call them back. I clear the phone storage and cache and it temporarily fixes the issue but it recurs again.
Never buy a xiaomi again, its really a bad phone and I'm only using it for browsing and making/receive calls, no other apps other that the stock ones that come with the phone.

I have the A1 and Xiaomi is slacking off with it's Android One updates, cause no 8.1 yet! Lol
If you want an android one device then better get a Nokia or other brands with faster software updates.
Just bought the Nokia 7plus and it has 8.1 OTA update waiting already.
Most of their android lineups are 8.1 now
Xiaomi still butthurt that MIUI lost against stock, so no 8.1 for you stock fans bohoo~ haha

Anonymous, 21 May 2018We were waiting for Android 8.1 ..... But???No 8.1 for mi a1 afaik and have read. Xiaomi will never update an Oscar, the next update maybe 9 if we are lucky. This is why I bought a Nokia 6, it was on 8.0 and updated to 8.1, Nokia is good and camera better.

Does anyone else hears an echo when call someone that has xiaomi mi a1? When i call.my dad normally or on viber i hear myself. I think we should sent it back, but im afraid the next one is gonna have the same probleme. Anyone with similar problems?
