The Snapdragon 625 SoC uses the same Linux kernel 3.18 as the original Pixels. Google will end its support of the original Pixels in october 2019 and probably also stop maintain Linux kernel 3.18. How will A2 Lite users get security updates after october 2019?
According to Arstechnica:
"Today, it's on Google to maintain dead kernels that it is still supporting. The 2016 Google Pixel shipped with Linux kernel 3.18, which was first released in 2014 and hit end-of-life in January 2017."
"Android kernels are tied to SoCs, and devices never upgrade kernels".

Skip it and buy the normal Mi A2 if you want an actual good phone. The notch, worse chipset, and worse cameras make it a deal breaker.

But I've come to know that the Stock Android of Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite has no lags, but there's occasional lagging on the MIUI. The photos produced from Redmi Note 5 AI are a hit or a miss. Moreover, I don't like the extra apps (bloatware) of Note 5 AI and prefer the clean UI of Mi A2 Lite over it. The Mi A1 was pretty durable and I'm hoping that the MI A2 will be as well. The design of Mi A2 Lite is trendy. In my country, the Xiaomi Mi A2 LIte (32GB) costs just a thousand ruppee less than the Redmi Note 5 Ai....So I'd suggest you go for the Xiaomi Mi A2 lite.
