Screen size like this must be AMOLED and not IPS.

Snapdragon 635 does it really exist ? Or it was a SD636 with a typo writing because if SD635 really exist why SD636 release first and SD635 still not release officially ? Till now there is no word about SD635.

But the rest of the specifications sound good. They won’t use the SD630. They will put either the 636 or 660 on Mi Max 3. Though I really like xiaomi’s displays, I wish they had gone with amoled display for this one. Will be interesting to see the final product.

This phone should come with the latest super power efficient snapdragon 640 SoC coupled with only 6GB RAM and 128 GB ROM.

New leaks said Mi Max 3 might come with wireless charging.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2018NFC is extremely useful, i charge my transportation card on... moreThen go buy LG dont bitching here about NFC. 99.9% Mi Max series fan doesnt care about NFC feature why should Xiaomi listen to U.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2018NFC is extremely useful, i charge my transportation card on... moreXiaomi considers NFC feature as premium feature, reserved only for more expensive premium phones like Mi Mix or Mi 6. All Redmi phone, budget phone line of Xiaomi under USD $300, do not have NFC feature. If Mi Max 3 with NFC feature costs more than $300, will you inclined to buy it? You will not, I guess.

NFC is nice feature to have but it won't justify additional price hike. If off-line electronic payment like Google Pay is more widely used in our society, the NFC may become very useful and the additional cost can be justified. But currently such off-line electronic payment is not so widely deployed and used yet, except mass transport fare payment. You can use traffic fare payment card instead for the time being.

The additional cost to put NFC feature on Mi Max 3 may be better spent to improve other lacking or sorry aspect of old Mi Max 2. For example, better AP or GPU, or better single back camera with OIS, better Gorilla glass or water resistance, etc.

NFC is very handy and i don't get it why my 4 year LG G Pro 2 has it while the all new Mi Max 3 may won't.

                              Using Mi Max 2

Please use 2K resolution on Max 3

NFC is still gimmickry feature. It has only limited daily use case, not so useful for many people. And this phone is big phone of semi-tablet size, used mostly for media consumption like video viewing, web browsing, and gaming. So NFC is not particularly useful for such media consumption device. This is why this phone has only single camera of modest quality, inferior to that of other less expensive Xiaomi phones than this.

This phone is all about BIG screen, BIG battery, FAST AP(CPU+GPU) and FAST battery charging, all other features that are nice to have like NFC or dual camera or water resistance can be ignored, in the name of economy.

AnonD-728868, 15 Feb 2018You seem to forget that as technology develops, older tech ... moreNope, what I really means even Samsung not giving its midrange phone NFC and if U really want it go and buy high end phone and dont trolling about NFC with Xiaomi midrange phone. Wanna high end features go and buy high phone dont bitching a round midrange.

Musang King, 13 Feb 2018Mi Max series never had NFC because it was a midrange phone... moreYou seem to forget that as technology develops, older tech becomes cheaper? By your logic, Xiaomi phones should still only have 1 - 2gb of RAM, the reason they don't is that it is a lot cheaper. Same reason they don't use an insanely old SOC.

I am bit disappointed with Redmi Note 5 Pro announcement today: like old micro-USB port and no quick charging. So I will wait this Max 3 instead. It has really BIG LCD screen, BIG battery and good SD660 AP. Other features I like: modern USB Type-C connector and quick charging, Micro SD slot, Gorilla glass, metal back (no glass back). Modest single (not dual) camera ( 12M back + 5 M front are OK), FM Radio, 3.5 mm jack. Android 8.0 Oreo out of box. All goodies at very modest PRICE!

Note that not everyone is fan of dual camera. or 20M front camera. Especially for budget-mined XIAOMI fans. To improve camara, apply OIS instead of dual camera.

Now that I have been disappointed by Note 5 I am looking at the next opportunity.
Please Xiaomi, put a band 4 LTE modem on your phones !
What a phone needs is simple for me:
-big battery (like the Mi Max)
-dual sim + dedicated SD (although with 128GB it should be ok). This is almost impossible to find.
                                        -EU LTE bands and NA LTE bands: 1 3 4 5 7 ...
                                        -Oreo
So far it has been very hard to find. I am counting on you !
