Xiaomi Mix Flip review
Design, build quality, handling
The Xiaomi Mix Flip looks a lot like the most current Flip phones - the Razr 50 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip6, Magic V Flip. In its folded state it looks like a small thick tile, while opened it looks like a tall Xperia phone.
The little touch that makes the Mix Flip unique when opened is its two back panels - they both have rounded edges and the back looks like two fancy tiles glued together. And it's a good look!
Speaking about the back panels - the one atop the 4-inch outer OLED is a scratch-resistant Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass (highly praised in Asia), while the other that covers the battery has a clean matte finish but we are not sure if it is Dragon Crystal or not.
The frame across both sides is made of polished aluminum and it is flat. But because of its glossy surface, it is a huge smudge magnet.
The hinge is thin and made of stainless steel. It has matte surface, a subtle Leica insignia, and the mechanism clicks quite nicely. It supports all sorts of angles between 45° and 135°.
The 4-inch external screen is called All Around Liquid Display for its complete coverage, end-to-end, on that side of the rear panel. It is not exactly bezel-less, but the bezel is indeed minimal. The two 50MP cameras are here, each one sitting inside a small jutting out ring. The display flows around these two rings and Xiaomi have come up with some nice UI for this part.
Opening the phone reveals the large 6.86-inch 22:9 foldable OLED of high resolution, high refresh rate and premium HDR support. It looks gorgeous, bright and colorful. The crease can be felt in its fully opened state, but barely.
This internal OLED has the typical plastic bezel, which is more like an enclosure for the whole thing. It also comes with a specific protector, which should not be removed as this action may damage the screen, or in the best case, you will open the door for permanent damage later on.
There is a 32MP front camera here inside a small perforation centered around the top.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the power/lock key. It is incredibly easy to reach it when closed, but a bit of a hassle when the Flip is opened because of the higher placement.
The Mix Flip offers stereo speakers - the louder one is next to the USB-C port at the bottom, while the quieter one is the earpiece, which pulls double duty as usual.
Another thing you may spot around the phone is the IR blaster at the top.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip measures 167.5 x 74 x 7.6 mm and weighs 192 grams, which is close to the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has not one, but two Achilles' heels - the lack of water protection and the absurdly slippery body. Obviously, the Mix Flip is a looker with a premium build, but it doesn't bode well for a daily driver, unless you put a case on it that adds grip. As for the missing ingress protection, just don't do pool selfies, alright?

You do know they make smaller sized phones right If your job doesn't let you carry a 6.5" slab because (presumably) you don't have safe enough pockets for them, a delicate foldable thing with plastic screen isn't going to cut it...

It's not straightforward as 8s Gen3 and 8 Gen 3 utilize the same Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720, and Cortex-A520 CPU. The only difference is the core arrangement. 8s Gen 3 has more A520 efficiency cores than 8 Gen 3. By right, the 8s Gen 3 should have b...
