BEN90, 19 Jun 2021Maybe another update will fix your issues. I'm sorry f... moreLet's hope so. I was a great fan of this phone until Xiaomi messed it up with the Android 11 update. Four really sore issues for me are:

    1. That stupid bottom center bar that can't be hidden on full display mode and which chops off content which happened after the Android 11 update (no issues in Android 10),

    2. Inability to use ADB commands to hide the status bar and navigation bar after the Android 11 update (debug command: adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*),

    3. Navigation swipe gestures do not work in full display/full screen mode when using 3rd party launchers including Nova launcher (the most popular third party launcher). This software bug is only present in Android 11; there were no issues in Android 10, and

    4. Inability to use dual SIM if you want to use 5G. In both the Android 10 and Android 11 update of the Poco F2 Pro, if you want 5G on one SIM, it will force you to turn off the other SIM making dual SIM operation impossible, which is just insane!

The many other minor bugs that came with Android 11 on the Poco F2 Pro, I can live with.

By comparison, all Samsung phones running Android 11 (OneUI 3.1) don't have any of the above 4 issues. If Xiaomi fixes these 4 issues or AT LEAST, allow SOFTWARE ROLLBACK to Android 10 by disabling ARB (anti rollback protection) when the bootloader is unlocked (like what happens in Pixel and most Android phones), I'll be more than happy recommending again the Poco F2 Pro as I strongly did in the past when it had Android 10.

Poco F2 Pro o... moreIf you don't need 5G in a phone and want a much better android software experience and longer, better software updates with no horrendous bugs, get the Samsung A72 4G. Now if you want 5G support, wait for the Samsung A72 5G or get the slightly smaller A52 5G. Now if you're a gamer or absolutely must have a powerful flagship processor, get a Samsung S20 FE 4G (if you don't need 5G) or the Samsung S20 FE 5G, if you need 5G support. It's a way much better phone than the Poco F2 Pro ever is. I just wish Samsung had a pop up selfie camera though on the S20 FE 5G and it would have been perfect.

After owning for almost a year, this is one great phone. A big upgrade from my Galaxy S8. My only issue is the weight. It's like you're carrying a tablet. But overall it's excellent. But I'm thinking of trading this for a Mi 11 Lite plus cash. Do y'all think its a good trade?

Guys, I cannot decide which one should i buy? Poco F2 Pro or Samsung Galaxy A72. Both are in my budget. I have heard of terrible software issues in POCO as well as that it was discontinued in Nov 2020. Please tell me which one is a better option?

I have a Poco F2 Pro since last Summer. Some weeks ago, after an update, it started having some issues. First, when I receive a GSM call - or Whatsapp, the screen stays on. Even if I press the power button, it turns off and immediately back on again, wasting battery. The only way to shut the screen off is to minimize the app. Strangely, this does not happen when I make the call. I suspect it has to do with the notification system. I have the always-on screen activated. Bluetooth started having issues too. Sometimes other people don't hear me from the beginning of the call. I have to hang up and dial again. This did not happen when I bought the phone. Anybody experiencing the same thing? Cheers

Anonymous, 16 Jun 2021Bro, i think you need to check your setting properly if you... moreNope, it's genuine. And it's the most expensive version - the 8GB RAM/256GB ROM version. And yes, it's got a bright, beautiful, all screen display with HDR10+ screen, superfast processor, excellent rear camera, great battery life. And yes, I've been praising it when I got it with Android 10, the software version it was originally released with a year ago. But Android 11 was a horrendous mess of an update. It ruined everything - from buggy navigation gestures that don't work with third party launchers, to app crashes to that chopping off of bottom content because you can't get rid of the bottom center line/bar in full screen display mode. I have factory reset the phone to no avail. The hide bar option wouldn't display. And I can see others are not seeing that option too (see YouTube comments on the post shared earlier). There are undocumented changes/variations to the software that Xiaomi rolled out so two software with the same version numbers can have differences in the actual interface options. It's also horrible for an expensive 5G phone to tell you that you it needs to turn off the other SIM if you want 5G. Samsung phones allow dual SIM operation even when one SIM is set to 5G. (The other SIM will automatically be set to 4G/3G/2G auto). Not with Xiaomi. If you want 5G on one SIM, it will force you to turn off the other SIM making dual SIM operation impossible when on 5G. There are lots many other bugs in Android 11 - dark mode bugs, app craahes, and 'share with' and 'open with' bugs when MIUI optimization is turned off in developer options which is supposed to improve compatibility with some playstore apps. The Android 11 update is as many reddit users have said, is horrendously buggy it's almost criminal. Here read their comments:

Read the comments section of this YouTube video and you'll see some don't have the 'Hide bottom center bar' option shown in the video at 1 min and 8 sec into playback. That first option "Hide Full Screen Indicator" option is missing/not available in my Poco F2 Pro.

Dani, 13 Jun 2021I have asked some Poco f2 pro user's and they all have... moreI'm not talking about being able to do full display mode. I am talking about that LINE/BAR at the bottom center of the Poco F2 Pro (started with Android 11 update - MIUI 12.2.X.X) that you cannot get rid of or hide. It chops off the bottom portion of the screen and it causes PERMANENT burn in of Amoled screen because it is big and present all of the time.
There was no problem on the original Android 10 software (MIUI 12.0.X.X) because the line/bar at the center bottom do not exist in full display mode. It is only in Android 11 that you see it and can't remove, at least in my and other Poco F2 Pro users who upgraded to Android 11.

Also, that's not the only issue with Android 11 on the Poco F2 Pro. Navigation/swipe gestures also DO NOT WORK when on fyll display mode if you are using custom launchers like the most popular and most well reviewed - Nova launcher. Poco launcher is miles behind Nova launcher in versatility, customization and usefulness. Experienced and advanced android users use it as their main launcher because of superb performance and functionality. But it doesn't work properly with Xiaomi's Android 11 update of the Poco F2 Pro.

[deleted post]Apparently some rabid Xiaomi fanatics can't carry a normal, sane, conversation. If you can get rid of that ugly bottom center line in full display mode and you have that option in your Poco F2 Pro running the 'same' software as mine, doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist. Things like this can happen because unlike you, I don't like to use Xiaomi's stypid launcher and I always turn on developer options to adjust animation speeds and font sizes.

Before you open your foul mouth which is a reflection of your deranged mind, investigate and acknowledge there is goid possibilty things like these can happen!
