Anonymous, 30 Jan 2021I think the buggy Android 11 is a mistake Xiaomi made. I do... moreIt is. The Poco F2 Pro Android 11 update is the worst update software with terrible bugs that Xiaomi released for a Xiaomi phone in a decade. That's based on my experience with 10+ other Xiaomi phones and tablets our household owns past and present.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2021Why i cant play pubg mobile LITE in hd graphics settings???... moreSame reason why you can't play Amazon Prime movies in HD. The phone may have the hardware and software to play games and movies in HD but if it's not whitelisted by the developer of the app, the app won't support it.

Satya, 07 Feb 2021Ya, just started realising it.. I really wonder when a feat... moreYes, I also bought this phone because XIAOMI WIDELY PUBLICIZED then that it has Widevine L1 certification, which I thought will allow me to wirelessly screen share offline Netflix downloads in HD from my Poco F2 Pro's 256GB internal storage to my big screen TV and projector. (The MAIN reason in the first place why I chose to pay more for 256GB storage given the phone doesn't have micro SD expansion).
To my extreme chagrin, the phone only plays back offline Netflix downloads IN-PHONE. Once wirelessly screen shared to smart TV's with Miracast, it plays a blank screen or crashes horribly that you need to restart the phone! I never had this problem even with cheap midrange Samsung phones that cost much less and yes, even with my 4+ year old LG phone. With other streaming services, expect even more unpredictability and disappointment. That's why my advise to buyers: DO NOT EVER TRUST China based phone brands (Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus, Realme etc.) to deliver a problem free and seamless streaming experience. Hollywood studios and US based streaming services don't trust these China brands and they have the last say. So even if those China phones have the DRM Widevine L1 certification and hardware to support HDCP encryption, you still won't be guaranteed a problem free streaming experience. Just don't trust them with DRM encoded content. You'll only regret the purchase. Get a Samsung, Sony, LG or Asus instead and spare yourself from the headache and regret later.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2021You really can't trust China based phones if you'... moreYa, just started realising it.. I really wonder when a feature not working despite clear demonstration during Europe launch event of Poco F2 pro.. They clearly mentioned that the phone capable of streaming hd content on Netflix and Amazon platforms. Did they at least tried once before standing on stage for advocating!!

Milky, 05 Feb 2021Okay, update seems to be buggier than previously thought, s... moreDo a factory reset, don't use a custom launcher, don't turn on developer options. If you do, then at least, don't turn off MIUI optimization, and don't adjust 'Smallest width' to larger than 600dp or many built in Xiaomi apps will crash. There will be many other persistent bugs that won't go away so just be at peace with the fact that Xiaomi wants its users to suffer until the next several updates be able to correct the bugs. There's no way of rolling back to Android 10 because Xiaomi intentionally disabled it by equipping the Android 11 update with anti rollback protection that you can't disable even with the bootloader already unlocked. Default behavior in other Android phones (Ex. Android One and Pixel phones) is that anti rollback is disabled once the bootloader is unlocked. Xiaomi probably wants the China government backdoors intact with every new update so no rollbacks allowed.

Satya, 05 Feb 2021Widevine L1 support on Poco F2 pro is a kind of weird joke,... moreYou really can't trust China based phones if you're at all concerned with HD playback and real life Widevine L1 implementation. Get a Samsung if HD playback of DRM encoded content matters much to you.

Okay, update seems to be buggier than previously thought, split screen really offends it, crashes apps, causes reboot, gesture navigation has gone from the best I've used on Android to extremely unreliable and flaky so have to revert to three buttons, camera HDR sets itself to off every time, despite setting to on, when sharing videos the gallery app crashes, hangs for about 10 seconds before proceeding, sometimes it shares the video, others a blank, black 'video' al appears that is useless, the screen on time counter in settings > battery > usage is fine until about 6 hours, then seems to either stop or go down, despite same usage pattern of usually about 10-12 hours screen on over a few days on a full charge, native file manager blanking out, crashing when try to copy and paste, interaction with text on websites when want to copy and paste or prompt search from them is now unreliable, either selects or just struggles to seem to grasp the text, cursor in text boxes kind of vanishes, no words then suddenly all catch up in a rush, menu won't always appear; is this similar for others or is my device basically boinked? I'm reluctant to reset as inconvenient but it wasn't like this before updating!

I recently bought a mask Original GKK 360 ° Mask for Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro Black it is OK because it completely protects the main module with cameras but it is very smooth and slippery almost like only the glass on the Poco. Which you recommend without being rough.

Anybody here successfully rolled back their Android 11 updated Poco F2 Pro to stock Android 10? I tried but failed to rollback due to ARB (anti-rollback) error when flashing the Android 10 fastboot image, even with the bootloader already unlocked. It seems Xiaomi wants Poco F2 users to suffer the bugs in the horrible Android 11 update.

Goldengolum, 02 Feb 2021Sugestions please. I can buy Mi10t pro (256GB/8GB) for 326€... morePersonally, I'd save or wait a bit more (until prices go down) and get the Poco F2 Pro. The wonderfully bezel free, HOLE-free AMOLED display with beautiful, deep, saturated colors and inky blacks and piercing whites in a gorgeous HDR10+ display is a PRICELESS experience.
High refresh rate is something you don't notice after a short while but that saturated, bright Amoled screen with deep blacks and that perfect hole free near bezel less display is something you WILL ALWAYS be going to SORELY MISS as soon as you switch to a dull looking, single holed, double holed or notched display. The high refresh rate screen will never compensate for that big ugly selfie camera hole or two. Notched and hole punch displays are just so stupid to be still around in 2021.
They're the ugliest thing in modern phones. Even the most expensive flagship phones, are ruined by them they don't stand a chance sitting next to a perfectly hole free display.
However, if you are after longevity (that is, if you intend to keep the phone for ar least 4 years), get an IPS based display. Amoled doesn't last as long as IPS. Otherwise, you're itching for a regular 2-3 phone replacement, Amoled will do.

Sugestions please. I can buy Mi10t pro (256GB/8GB) for 326€ or Poco F2 (128GB/6GB) for 432€. On mi10 I prefer the 144hz, 256GB/8GB of RAM and the price, while on the poco the oled screen, no punchole and the headphone jack.
Should I save some money and go for mi10t pro, or go for the poco f2?

Have had a few months, overall I'd say it's pretty impressive, great screen, best battery life I've known, reliable, snappy and intuitive; if you've ever used a smartphone before nothing about this device will throw you off and the 'ads' hysteria we hear so much of amounts to 1 that I've only seen in the built-in security scanner that is easily disabled by the flick of a slider.
Pros:
-Great screen, everything looks really nice & sharp, colours are natural and picture quality easily comparable to Samsung's, in fact as pretty much entire front is display and without any annoying curves or camera dots this device seems impressively designed and very immersive.
-Very fast, apps, camera etc, all behave remarkably quickly and without hesitation.
-Battery life, lasts usually for 2/3 and sometimes 4 days on my usage.
-OS generally quite pleasant, colourful, great dark mode, lots of options for customization and has some genuinely useful additions and apps, for example Second Space and I'm a fan of the 'Control Panel' style sliding from different areas of top as allows you to toggle settings without reading message previews or just see notifications without seeing settings toggles, really simple and smart (think Huawei used to have this but removed if recall).
-As for bundled apps, coming from Samsung this is fine to me, you also there find duplicated Gallery, Browser, App Store, 'Tips'(?!), Facebook, Instagram (that cannot be uninstalled!!!) etc and in regards to dreaded ads I only saw a couple on the 'security check' thing when installing apps but since disabling the 'recommendations' have seen no others at all, I might note that on previous Samsung I could not disable the frequent requests to rate their native apps and if opened eg. Galaxy store would get an ad every time that cannot be avoided.
-Nice haptic feedback / vibration, strong but not overkill, seems of a much higher quality than any phone I've had.
-In a world with fewer and fewer, here is a very decent sounding 3.5mm jack.
-Camera is mostly good, great colours, with generally accurate, natural presentation, easily better than my old S7, comparable to family member's S10 but without the OTT colours of that device's over-processing, however detail in my experience on Poco is hit and miss, I'm yet to understand why, as can take similar shots not long apart, one of which will have a kind of digital 'noise' when zooming in, the other will resolve a lot more detail, without changing any settings or lighting etc.
-GCAM, good to have the option, more reliable in regards to detail problem mentioned above, seems as if it just hoovers up more information in every shot than stock.
-Sliding front camera is good, very clear and it's nice to have some control over how 'exposed' we feel when using a smartphone, it also is very quiet if disable the sound and seems neat, reliable.
Cons:
-Big, it's not massive like a Max 3, more P20 Pro territory, but the weight and kind of 'feel' of the thing is a bit like holding a power bank, very 'slab' kind of quality, esp. chunky with included case on and kind of elongated screen means occasional shuffle to reach top, I'm fine but family with smaller hands complained they found this frustrating.
-Extra camera lenses seem pointless /overkill, only find regular use for main and others just are not as good.
-OS has a habit of killing apps if not on screen, so eg. have browser open, go to camera app to take pics, go back to browser and it reloads, seems strange given RAM and despite attempting to 'whitelist' said browser(s) in settings this still happens for me.
-As others have said, since OS update to Android 11 there are definitely bugs, first the auto brightness for me was all over the place, then this seemed to settle down after a while, then the split screen and picture-in-picture or video overlapping another app just either caused weird touches and ghost presses or crashes all apps after a few minutes use, this flakiness is frustrating and seems avoidable as it was not there at all in previous build.
-Charger, very fast but I find it disconcerting how warm the device gets, which can't be good for the battery - I'd like an option in settings to disable fast charging as found on Samsung's higher end models, rather than have to buy a slower brick.

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2021Mi 10T Pro or Poco F2 Pro?
I know F2 Pro has audio jack,... morePoco F2 Pro if you want a display with deep blacks, bright, piercing whites and rich saturated colors in a glorious HDR 10+ display that doesn't have an ugly, outdated hole punch that wastes so much space, it's so dumb to be still present in 2021 phones. It also has a Global ROM with Google Play and Widevine L1 compatibility with Netflix for HD playback, and sports that very useful headphone jack that is being used in all current, modern, high end audio equipment as well as useful for selfie sticks that don't need charging at all (shutter button triggered by headphone jack connection).
Otherwise, if you are OK with a holed display that you keep on plugging up when you'd rather want not to show your face accidentally in video conferences or meetings, if you want a better camera, high refresh rate screen and no headphone jack, in exchange for a slightly bigger battery, with MIUI China ROM software (for most, if not ALL variants) that doesn't have Google Play or Widevine L1 certification for playback of Netflix in HD, then get the Mi 10T Pro.
