Trying to buy a phone in this price range, should I just buy this or wait for some phones coming soon? I mostly play games, and a 90 hz refresh rate would be nice. I checked out x2 pro but its design and UI isnt my fav. Thanks.

begjay, 20 Oct 2020Pls can anyone advice me with phone to buy between Xiaomi m... moreThe Samsung Note 9 is a great phone during its era but it's no longer recommended to buy an old flagship that is end of life and end of software support. The Poco F2 Pro is much better in terms of battery, screen, processor and video and photo quality. Just install GCam with Night Sight and you'll see it performs so much better than the Note 9. As for the Mi 9 Pro, it's newer than the Samsung, but still, it's behind the Poco F2 Pro in specs and features and costs more so it doesn't really make sense settling for older flagships unless you can save a lot and get them much cheaper than the Poco F2 Pro.

begjay, 20 Oct 2020Pls can anyone advice me with phone to buy between Xiaomi m... moreIt depends on your preference. But don't buy the Mi 9 Pro anyways.
I would suggest Samsung Note 9 has an excellent QuadHD Display, Stylus, SD Card Slot, IP Rating, Wireless Charging, Stereo Speakers and even a better camera than F2 Pro.
Considering F2 Pro, the major features are the full-screen display and Snapdragon 865. Also, F2 Pro has a higher 4700mAh Battery.
Galaxy Note 9 is a good choice unless you need a Higher Batter or Faster UFS 3.1 Storage.
Also notice that the Note 9 software support is ended. It has already got 2 major android updates and won't get Android 11.
While, F2 Pro comes with Android 10 out of the box. I'm pretty sure it will get Android 13 too.

I've been using Poco F2 Pro for a month+ now. Here's my review.
== Pros ==
See, I play Ultra HD in PUBG with the highest framerate, this phone does peek, scope, drop shoot, jump spray shoot, aim, aim with peek, spray while shooting faster and smoother than any device I have used. I can only compare it to playing PUBG on a super high-end PC with Emulator.
And, there's this thing about the Gaming Turbo that boost your network latency and speed. For example, when connected to a low latency network, everyone would get a latency of like 150ms+, I get half of that! Worse, 98ms. This is insane! The game turbo feature sort of directs all network to the game.
Finally, the touch responsiveness is legendary. I have a high-end iphone and I can tell this F2 Pro is much more responsive. Let me paint a scenario, when you scroll down the menu or in a game, you can click your screen more than ten times in one second and it will all be recorded! This feature is of tremendous advantage in a competitive game like PUBG.
And finally finally, I connect this device to my 4k Nanocell Retina TV. It is smoother than sliding on oil. PS, my SSD, 16GB RAM, 8 processors PC is glitchy on my 4k tv.
Bro, the perfomance of this phone and the optimisations the engineers did is insane!
== Con ==
This device is not really a "mobile phone". It is a gaming device. The phone call app etc has minor bugs worthy of mention which makes it hard to be a functional mobile phone.
The four cameras takes super clean pictures but its horrible when taking pictures at night. The flashlight is worse than a sodium lamp! iPhone 6 has brighter flash than this device.
== Conclusion ==
If you don't mind the "bright" flashlight and buggy phone calls. If all you need is a high-end device, that doesn't cook your palm with heat like iphones plus an extremely HQ OLED, duper responsive display. Pick this phone. Forget the DOG phone.
If they make a Poco F3 Pro, I'd be the first to buy it. Voila amigo/a :)

pinky an perky, 19 Oct 2020Is there differnt versions of pocco f2 pro avaible for diff... moreI honestly recommend going for AliExpress instead – as long as you keep to the legitimate seller (Xiaomi) or at least reputable sellers (many good reviews) you'll be better off than shady sellers on eBay.
As for the version, they are definitely different from region to region, but you can get an officially ulocked version (global, not locked to a region or provider). Furthermore, the specs vary too – otherwise gsmarena wouldn't have listed two different RAM sizes.

ThatOneWeabo, 14 Oct 2020this phone is like 350 dollars in my country for the 8gb mo... moreIt is, depending on your needs. If you want a faster processor that's future proof with 5G, if you want a master remote control in a phone (IR blaster), if you want a headphone jack, if you want 8K video, a bigger battery and a completely punch hole free screen, better jpeg and video processing with better sharpness, colors and noise handling, better dark mode where you can force and set apps INDIVIDUALLY to dark mode (including those that still don't support it), then you should get the Poco F2 Pro.
Now if you watch Netflix videos and store offline downloads for wireless screen sharing everywhere, you want a desktop interface (DEX mode), you want up to 1TB micro SD expansion (soon 2TB) for much lower price, ability to manually select LTE bands of your choice for your phone to connect to, a fuss free and much better handling of widgets and background apps, ability to have hidden hotspot (hidden SSID), ability to encrypt micro sd storage and an overall a more mature and more secure software operating system that doesn't have lingering doubts regarding government backdoors, get the S10 lite.

This phone is great, Decided not to pay huge money to upgrade from my S9+, I've had Samsung phones since the Galaxy S (S1) The Poco is fast with good cameras an a great display. Only thing I don't like is bundled optimization software has adds with no option to remove them. (and I accidently purchased another one thinking I was upgrading the existing software) Overall it's a great device for those who want fast hardware without paying top $$$$$
