Slater1133, 21 Jun 2020Thoughts about Poco F2 Pro...
I don't like the pop up/ mo... moreIf you're not interested in an all screen design without an ugly, space wasting punch hole or notch for the selfie camera, there are plenty of choices from EVERY SINGLE android phone manufacturer/brand.
Otherwise, you can only choose flipper model designs or pop-ups or wait until 2023 for underdisplay selfie cameras.

Thoughts about Poco F2 Pro...
I don't like the pop up/ motorized selfie camera.
Any other hardware issues?
Thoughts about Redmi Note 9S and 9 Pro...
Any better options than these.. like Oneplus 8?
Hoping to hear from you experts.
Thanks!

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2020Yes, I can certainly understand your frustration with Xiaom... moretotally agreed 👍 I was never a brand consumer. in regard to the warranty I think xiaomi is trash in UK, they don't obey the law, I don't have time or budget to sue them. Just beware of your warranty, buy only from them and if they don't officially sell that phone in your country, buy it from a physical store were you can actually return it and get it fixed. And the thing is xiaomi doesn't want to repair it even if I pay. I went to a local repair shop and they can't fix it because the motor is fried and there is no replacement part for it at this point, maybe in a couple of months. Not to mention now, I have serious overheating issues maybe because of the motherboard, it can't be from the motor because it's now disconnected. So basically now I'm stuck with a brick. One more thing I would like to say is that there is a common myth that xiaomi said it tested the motor for 300k open and closes, there maybe some confusion with what Oneplus said about their 7 series, but I couldn't find anywhere something similar for xiaomi. So again, buyers beware. Otherwise is a great phone with nice performance and battery life untill the motor failed and started heating up, now I barely get 5 hours of SoT and every component from the CPU to the battery is above 43c hot.

raycon, 19 Jun 2020you know why this is worse than note 7 and G4? Because Xiao... moreYes, I can certainly understand your frustration with Xiaomi. Xiaomi actually rendered 3 of my Xiaomi phones worthless after the MiUI update rendered the phones super slow charging. The extended charging times resulted to bloated batteries and of to trash they went just a few months after the killer updates -that's 3 Xiaomi phones one after another. Never Xiaomi again, so I thought. Had LG and Samsung phones after them but guess what? LG didn't update the android Nougat of my $799 LG V20 even once (it's still on Nougat) and it has image retention that was really bad without a screen filter app running. And the Samsung, well, I never used its defective superfast charger because it sporadically just stops charging and the PRO camera mode was seriously a stupid joke. So I'm back to Xiaomi. They're all the same really. I've made peace with the fact phone manufacturers want people to keep on buying new phones every 2 years or so and the only thing that's going to stop it is worldwide regulation against planned obsolescence. Go ahead and move on with another brand, but don't ever expect you can stick with one. Learn from your mistakes - that more than the brand, the seller's reputation and after sales warranty and service and its return policy is something you have to seriously consider. Seller reputation matters more than brand names especially in countries were customer protection is very weak.

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2020I don't need to own the phone but since you asked it, yes, ... moreyou know why this is worse than note 7 and G4? Because Xiaomi's warranty is useless. doesn't matter to how many people have an issue with the phone when xiaomi tells you to "go away and next time buy it from us." I had the G4 and went to fix it 3 times because of the motherboard, screen and battery , but you know what? it didn't bother me at all. they had authorised repair shops everywhere and my warranty was actually taken seriously.

punisher, 19 Jun 2020Your main problem is your behaviour. You behvae like typica... moreI appreciate your allegations but no, I'm not a fanboy. And regarding your outmodeled Mi 9T Pro being much better than the 'trash' (in your own words) Poco F2 Pro, no need for me to disprove you again in a lengthy discussion.
It's not healthy for me? How about the multitude of non-phone owners here like you who go to extra lengths to visit this Poco F2 Pro forum just to criticize the phone they don't own while not posting anything admirable about their phone on their own phone's forum? Ok I get it. It's called sourgraping.

Stop copy pasting ... moreIf you just read what I wrote, open the links, and put on polarized sunglasses and did tbe experiment as I told you, you won't need to come up with such a long, empty reply that does nothing to invalidate what I and the linked website already said.

Your main problem is your behaviour. You behvae like typical fanboy defending something which is not healthy for your mental health. Every user in here have an opinion. Opinions here are for people to have a clue or a preview before they purchase something ans every opinion is valid. To say and defend something so blindly doesnt create room for diversity. John doesnt like the camera on that particular phone. Mark doesnt like the screen. Every opinion is valid. Personally for me this phone is overpriced for "what it has to offer". That one dude who compared iphone to samsung to huawei will find that exactly this phone model is good for his needs because he was comparing it to price, what it has to offer etc. Someone else will not include that at all in his decision but will rather check software updates policy. The third person will check something else as well. But u constantly defending something as being superior shows the behaviour as a fanboy. U are not objective at all. That is your opinion and as such it will be viewed as a opinion. Even you have revealed that with xiaomi mi max or what u phone u mentioned. That alonr states that u had couple of xiaomi phones and that u are a fanboy. I am no fan of any kind becauae its not healthy. I buy what is for me best at that moment. I had alos iphones but i were never a fanboy yo begin with. I knew exactly what android could do that iOS coudlnt. But i eas not bashing everybody else just because i had an iphone. That is just pathetic. Today i buy Xiaomi, tomorrow buy Samsung, iphone etc. Never i will defend anything. When somebody ask me whats your experience. I say like it is. Stay away from that model, this model is good model etc etc. When u a user you dont have to what to compare the only way is to experience it on your own skin. If it fails. When u work with phones u have a free experience, behind the scene experience which u are payed for. I still am fixed on my view of things. This phone has nothing to offer to me personally. And i dont have remorse. Because it would be unhealthy. Next time i will buy a phone which company is maybe totally new or i will buy an 2000$ iphone. It all depends of what the user is looking for what is his needs. Users are buying phones for they like not because of u and me. U and me are only opinions. The free experience is also a youtube review of that particular phone. U have that freedom before u buy stuff. Your behavioit is out of place!

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2020I'm sorry if I hurt your ignorance. I was just talking base... moreYou trying to hurt my ignorance. Hahaha. Stop copy pasting stuff. When u see stuff how they work u will know. But u answering on every single question is hilarious. When you have a fixed view so polarized can show content there is no such thing as view angle or a rotation for u to do with your eyes. Otherwise we would have mobile screens with optional polarizer rotation for the sake of fun. The same goes for glasses. He was talking and i was talking about mobile screens not tv's. Most mobiles 95% of them dont have problem with polarizer placement. You can place them how ever u want. Flip them rotate them what ever u like. Even switch them between oems. The only difference will be the color reproduction nothing else. It will in 95% of phones not block the light.
But im guessing u will still post answers to everybody elses opinions about the main topic here. That is this particular phone. Get help!

punisher, 19 Jun 2020You are wrong. Why i know that. Well because its my job. Wi... moreI'm sorry if I hurt your ignorance. I was just talking based in experience - that some IPS display phones like my old Mi Max phone behave like my LCD tv: The screen becomes dark when viewed using polarized sunglasses if the screen is in portrait. The same thing doesn't happen in an amoled phone, at least with the Samsung Note 8 a friend was using. You should try wearing expensive polarized sunglasses and view the screen of the said two phones in landscape (and an LCD monitor in portrait) so you'll understand what I mean when I say the display device screen of the LCD displays mentioned turns dark/barely visible when in cross axis with the polarized sunglasses and clearly visible when in the same axis as the polarized sunglasses.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there's no difference but in practice, there is. Duh!

raycon, 18 Jun 2020so you don't have the phone, then stop talking I don't need to own the phone but since you asked it, yes, I have the 256GB version of the Poco F2 Pro. I can certainly understand your frustration. You get lemons REGARDLESS of brand. But they should in no way be used to convince users to stop buying punchole free/notch free phones unless it's a confirmed widespread issue like the exploding battery of the Samsung Note7, or the bootlooping issue of the LG G4.

Polarized layer have nothing to do with what angle or rotation you look at the sceen. Stop bs already! The guy who asked the question i knew what he was trying without any furthet explanation because i work with this stuff. Stick with this particular model of a phone and value compared to the rest. I dont mind. But dont talk about something which u font have a clue of. Thank u and goodbye. I will to moderators because your behvaiour creates irritation among users.

Anonymous, 18 Jun 2020Not many people can understand why you're asking such quest... moreYou are wrong. Why i know that. Well because its my job. Without polarizer there is no content. But hey be my guest and state otherwise. I have machines that take away the polarier and machines that set up nee polarizer. And ive repaired tons of mobiles! You have that content on youtube as well but its not shown on most common solutions because polarizers are always saved. It eould require a bad repairman to damage a polarizer!!!!

Djikstorm, 18 Jun 2020Doesn't work on the older oneEvery phone out there uses polarized layer which is the layer which sits on top. Without polarized layer there is only white color. Lcd and amoled. There is different types of polarized layers which are different like iphone and samsung layers. But they are seen even if they are switchable between those two oems. The only reason is they are not compatible is the saturation or effectivness of colors. In plain text they are somewhat washed out if not compatible (dedicated) polazirer which is ment for that particular model or oem. Seeing through polarized glasses on polarized screen doesnt do that much except darkens the brightness. Same thing goes if there are two layers on lcd or amoled. Its mosed used by us (me included) to darken the mistakes which are visible by one layer. But us i mean if there was a failure in repairng the screen which almost never happens. So the method is the same with polarized glasses on already polarized screen. The only way colors or anything is not seen if glasses are cheap. Which maybe doesnt match with polarized layer spectrum. But however its cool to have secret mode but its not that practical in reality.

raycon, 18 Jun 2020I can show you proof my friend. be careful when making some... moreI do not spread misinformation that's why I provided links. It's actually you who is spreading misinformation. A single isolated case and you call on everybody to stop buying a great value phone. If your seller was really a legitimate one, the seller would have honored replacement or refund. Not all sellers are authorized by Xiaomi. Those that do, certainly will accept refund, repair or replacement during the warranty period.

raycon, 18 Jun 2020I didn't even open the selfie camera 10 since I got it. you... moreLook, read again my statement. I never said you were a liar. You have a lemon. Deal with it. Pop-up cameras are rated to last longer than you'll ever use the phone. Your battery and amoled screen will start failing first before the pop up experiences problems in normal settings. As I said, if yours died in two weeks, you have a lemon - a factory defect. Deal with it with your seller. Good sellers honor customer replacement and refunds. All phones have production defectives. No point criticizing isolated pop ups camera failures unless you can prove they are widespread in which case older phone models from Xiaomi or other brands with pop up cameras would have had already product recalls like the Note 7's exploding battery.
