But the elephants in the room: the bigger notch free, punch hole free screen and the bigger battery alone won't make the two comparable. No flagship phone in 2020 should have punch holes or notches. It's so dated and yesteryears. It's like a computer monitor with notch or punch hole within the upper screen. It just RUINS an otherwise perfect all screen viewing experience.

There's really no way you can use the notch/punch hole area in many apps which strictly avoid it resulting in less than immersive display. No ADB command can force it to be used. Been trying to use the notch space/punch hole space in my A71 to no avail. It always leaves a wasted black space for many apps. As a matter of personal preference, I believe punch holes and notches look so dated - too yesteryears looking. No flagship phone in 2020 should ever have one.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020OnePlus 7 Pro seems a better choice. It reallyvdepends on how you define 'better'. For me, it's far from better. Oneplus 7 Pro has an older snapdragon 855 chipset, has no IR blaster, has no 3.5mm jack, has no 8K video, has fragile curved screen a lot of users like me hate, has a much smaller battery, and is already a year old (only one more year of guaranteed android software update support). On top of those, I really don't like its jpeg output/jpeg processing engine. Oneplus and Samsung tend to do the same approach in processing - oversaturating/clipping color channels, oversmoothing and oversharpening images (aggressive noise reduction very similar to Samsung's style) resulting in seemingly nice-looking photos in small phone screens, but otherwise looking artificial and overcooked in larger 4K or 8K computer screens that don't lend well to cropping and
post processing. Also, it costs around $30 more than Poco F2 Pro (SRP prices, not the depreciated prices a year after release).

Daz, 08 Jun 2020Which is better value realme x50 Pro 5g and poco f2 Pro 5g,... moreIf you don't need or don't have 5G in your area I would recommend the Realme X2 Pro.
You can buy the 6/64gb version for ~350USD.

Realistically you won't feel any real life difference between the SD855+(in the Realme X2 Pro) and the SD865(in the POCO F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro)

Depend where you are from, this Poco F2 Pro is currently the cheapest SD865 smartphone at my country. I know, it's pricing is not far cheaper than, let say Realme X50 Pro (not yet launching at my country), Black Shark 3, Xiaomi Mi 10, and Oneplus 8. But it is so far the only smartphone at this price point that offer full screen with non punch hole.
Depend on budget, one can definitely settle for these alternative, with just a little more expensive price.
Main cut cost for this Poco F2 Pro will be the camera, and the screen refresh rate, maybe charging speed.
For me, I would recommend settle for the Xiaomi Mi 10, but it's main let down would be it is a single SIM smartphone. Or direct settle for Oneplus 8.

Hey, 09 Jun 202030w are too slow, but still a really cool deviceYeah, right. It's "TOO SLOW" charging for you despite the fact it charges a huge 4700mAh battery from 0% - 100% in about an hour.

It's not that there are no phones that charge much faster than the Poco F2 Pro but to say it's 'TOO SLOW' is just too much. It's like seeing a glass filled with 3/4 water as practically EMPTY and refusing to acknowledge it's actually CLOSER TO FULL than being actually close to empty.

Here comes all the samr criticism that happen when Pocophone F1 is launched.
Case 1: Want this Poco F2 Pro has everything that Samsung S20 Plus or Ultra has. Please admit that you are the greedy consumer that want everything at this price point. And when some brand really do it with cost cutting features, you complain and demand more on the cost cutting phone rather than yell at the expensive one. Common consumer greedy mindset.
Case 2: Complain this Poco F2 Pro has nothing to offer. Nobody is forcing you to buy new smartphone, just stay with your current one and enjoy using it while it still last.
Case 3: Complain this successor is more expensive than Poco F1. You should just stick to the old Poco F1, because you doesn't talk with specs by specs comparison. Do you really think this Poco F2 Pro will be sold well if stick to the old plastic body, using poor quality LCD screen, exclude NFC, 18W charging, just 1 useful camera. Same notched or punch hole screen. I think there still have people to buy it, the price can be lower, but the sales will be much less.
All in all, it all comes down to preference, and nothing can be said is more superior and inferior if compared to other smartphone. Just pick the smartphone that meet your expectations. Just need to bear in mind that at this price point, you cannot get everything.

punisher, 08 Jun 2020I think u are misunderstanding the discussion. Its not abou... moreAs I already mentioned, enjoy your outmodeled phone while it lasts and let the new Poco F2 Pro owners with better specs enjoy theirs. Time will come when it will need to go too and become outperformed/outmodeled/outpriced by another newer, faster model. No need to call the Poco F2 Pro phone 'trash' because how can a MUCH improved version for just $51 more be trash? (Prices are based on SRP, not the discounted, depreciated prices that happen months later).

As I said, stop criticizing the successor of the your Mi 9T. You'll only sound desperate and sourgraping.

Its not about same oem or a different oem. Its not about fanboyism or different spec. Its about current price modeling which is obvious. Gsmarena will not write neutral review about same stuff and it doesnt matter because after what i wrote personally to gsmarena i know where they stand at the moment. You should read where it counts. Xda wrote article about flagship have flagship killers specs from last year. There is same explanation what i thought already from the beginning. The truth about current pricing model. But hey if u are interesting u should read it to where it counts. The problem is not one or anorher phone model the problem is that u pay more for less. Read the xda article then come back and comment what u want. Its so obvious what is happening the a donkey can understand it. Qualcomm already had problems in the past and im pretty sure that they will have problen with current sd865 requirement or should i say forced requirement. However i understand your opinion as its a natural thing when it comes to evolution. Every upcoming generation would naturally be a successor to previous model but i still think u are wrong because of money grabbing marketing politics.

Would have been better if 5000mah and 120hz display then just 1 camera (poco's appeal should be the flagship chipset and big battery, nothing more, but 120hz makes it gamer-friendly in the future)

Specs are specs and especially since both phones were made by the same manufacturer, it won't change the facts I already mentioned stating why the newer Poco F2 Pro is actually SO MUCH better in specs and pricing.

I can certainly understand your frustration especially if you just recently bought your Mi 9T Pro and then just a few months after, the Poco F2 Pro became available. No need to justify you made the right purchase in the Mi 9T Pro. It was right for you because there was no Poco F2 Pro yet during the time of your purchase.

Just enjoy your outmodeled phone then and let the new Poco F2 Pro owners enjoy theirs. No need to call their Poco F2 Pro phone 'trash'. You'll only sound desperate and sourgraping.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2020Actually, its a newer, much improved version of the Mi 9T P... moreI think u are wrong. U cant possibly justify what u wrote as its a better. If u can compare new sensor 64mp to old one in mi 9t pro there is no improvement at all. Its more or less worse then 48 mp sensor which is in mi 9t pro, there is already a ton of comparison out there between new and opd senso!. Better battery. I get 12h in sot with mi 9t pro. 5g you can forget about 5g. 5g is only specification on paper. Thats it for the 5g. U cant use it unless u live next door to 5g antenna in California. The whole world is not California!!!!!!!!. It lacks laser af which is used in low light conditions and its necessary so u avoid lighting before it auto focus. Lets call it a prefetcher for laser af. Even 865 vs 855 is somewhat the same. U can clearly see the real life use in youtube comparison between f2 pro and mi 9t pro which is the same more or less. Your statement about 64mp is rubbish. 64mp is also present in note 8 pro which cost about 200e. Yep i bought it for 200e. For pricing about mi 9t pro i bought it for 308e. So yes therr is big difference between 308e and 480e from local seller. 480e is the cheapest i found about f2 pro. But i see successors in diferent angle then u and other people. 480-308. For 172e difference i dont see alot of improvement except the screen size. And that is not worth to just throw away 172e just for the sake of new generation. Not at all. But we are all different people. The best phone out there in new generation is find x2 pro because of complete set up. It still uses 48mp count but its way way better then any of mentioned above. U can read plenty of articles about new sony 64 mp sensor which sits in f2 pro and u will see that actually there is no improvement except pixel count which also sits in note 8 pro as a pixel count!!!. So no i dont think its worth the upgrade. If im gonna spend plus 172e more then i will wait for sd 875 which will be a very large jump compared to currrnt configurations. Hell i will throw plus 100e more just for the sake of argument.
