Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020Nailed it, it just hurts to read this comment section with ... moreIt is the same reason why people are picking Pocophone F1, where we all know why the low price is with cost cutting features.
It has it's own uniqueness, and not a carbon copy of other smartphone.
Yes, it's price is no longer the cheapest that cut below the midrange phone, but it is still priced very competitive.
So, pick Poco F2 Pro for the headphone jack, and full screen no punch hole.
Pick Black Shark 3 for gaming, 90hz screen, front stereo speaker, headphone jack, 65W charging, but no NFC.
Pick Mi 10 for everything that Poco F2 Pro lack, but has to settle for single sim, punch hole screen, no headphone jack. But is rewarded with OIS 108MP camera, wireless charging, 90hz screen.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020If you don't need or don't have 5G in your area I would rec... moreYes, sd 855 wouldn't be so much of a downgrade if that was all the difference. But the elephants in the room: the bigger notch free, punch hole free screen and the bigger battery alone won't make the two comparable. No flagship phone in 2020 should have punch holes or notches. It's so dated and yesteryears. It's like a computer monitor with notch or punch hole within the upper screen. It just RUINS an otherwise perfect all screen viewing experience.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020If you don't need or don't have 5G in your area I would rec... moreI'm willing to spend just a bit more for for more storage, better specs, and a punch hole free and notch free flat screen experience like in the Poco F2 Pro.
There's really no way you can use the notch/punch hole area in many apps which strictly avoid it resulting in less than immersive display. No ADB command can force it to be used. Been trying to use the notch space/punch hole space in my A71 to no avail. It always leaves a wasted black space for many apps. As a matter of personal preference, I believe punch holes and notches look so dated - too yesteryears looking. No flagship phone in 2020 should ever have one.

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020OnePlus 7 Pro seems a better choice. It reallyvdepends on how you define 'better'. For me, it's far from better. Oneplus 7 Pro has an older snapdragon 855 chipset, has no IR blaster, has no 3.5mm jack, has no 8K video, has fragile curved screen a lot of users like me hate, has a much smaller battery, and is already a year old (only one more year of guaranteed android software update support). On top of those, I really don't like its jpeg output/jpeg processing engine. Oneplus and Samsung tend to do the same approach in processing - oversaturating/clipping color channels, oversmoothing and oversharpening images (aggressive noise reduction very similar to Samsung's style) resulting in seemingly nice-looking photos in small phone screens, but otherwise looking artificial and overcooked in larger 4K or 8K computer screens that don't lend well to cropping and
post processing. Also, it costs around $30 more than Poco F2 Pro (SRP prices, not the depreciated prices a year after release).

Daz, 08 Jun 2020Which is better value realme x50 Pro 5g and poco f2 Pro 5g,... moreIf you don't need or don't have 5G in your area I would recommend the Realme X2 Pro.
You can buy the 6/64gb version for ~350USD.
Realistically you won't feel any real life difference between the SD855+(in the Realme X2 Pro) and the SD865(in the POCO F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro)

If Mi A2 lite users didn't make any noise as regards the absence of FM radio in an entry level to midrange phone, Xiaomi would never have provided FM radio in an update.

Depend where you are from, this Poco F2 Pro is currently the cheapest SD865 smartphone at my country. I know, it's pricing is not far cheaper than, let say Realme X50 Pro (not yet launching at my country), Black Shark 3, Xiaomi Mi 10, and Oneplus 8. But it is so far the only smartphone at this price point that offer full screen with non punch hole.
Depend on budget, one can definitely settle for these alternative, with just a little more expensive price.
Main cut cost for this Poco F2 Pro will be the camera, and the screen refresh rate, maybe charging speed.
For me, I would recommend settle for the Xiaomi Mi 10, but it's main let down would be it is a single SIM smartphone. Or direct settle for Oneplus 8.

Hey, 09 Jun 202030w are too slow, but still a really cool deviceYeah, right. It's "TOO SLOW" charging for you despite the fact it charges a huge 4700mAh battery from 0% - 100% in about an hour.
It's not that there are no phones that charge much faster than the Poco F2 Pro but to say it's 'TOO SLOW' is just too much. It's like seeing a glass filled with 3/4 water as practically EMPTY and refusing to acknowledge it's actually CLOSER TO FULL than being actually close to empty.

Here comes all the samr criticism that happen when Pocophone F1 is launched.
Case 1: Want this Poco F2 Pro has everything that Samsung S20 Plus or Ultra has. Please admit that you are the greedy consumer that want everything at this price point. And when some brand really do it with cost cutting features, you complain and demand more on the cost cutting phone rather than yell at the expensive one. Common consumer greedy mindset.
Case 2: Complain this Poco F2 Pro has nothing to offer. Nobody is forcing you to buy new smartphone, just stay with your current one and enjoy using it while it still last.
Case 3: Complain this successor is more expensive than Poco F1. You should just stick to the old Poco F1, because you doesn't talk with specs by specs comparison. Do you really think this Poco F2 Pro will be sold well if stick to the old plastic body, using poor quality LCD screen, exclude NFC, 18W charging, just 1 useful camera. Same notched or punch hole screen. I think there still have people to buy it, the price can be lower, but the sales will be much less.
All in all, it all comes down to preference, and nothing can be said is more superior and inferior if compared to other smartphone. Just pick the smartphone that meet your expectations. Just need to bear in mind that at this price point, you cannot get everything.

punisher, 08 Jun 2020I think u are misunderstanding the discussion. Its not abou... moreAs I already mentioned, enjoy your outmodeled phone while it lasts and let the new Poco F2 Pro owners with better specs enjoy theirs. Time will come when it will need to go too and become outperformed/outmodeled/outpriced by another newer, faster model. No need to call the Poco F2 Pro phone 'trash' because how can a MUCH improved version for just $51 more be trash? (Prices are based on SRP, not the discounted, depreciated prices that happen months later).
As I said, stop criticizing the successor of the your Mi 9T. You'll only sound desperate and sourgraping.
