I have seen worse but definitely Xiaomi smartphone is not the worse. The rest is up to choices, and also luck.

I had the same issue after less than a year I've bought it.
I decided to order flex cable and usb board. Changed both and it fixed it. It's almost 2years since then and all is good. Everything works fine.

Have had several Xiaomi phones exhibiting slow battery charging or rapid battery drain or both when they are updated on the second year from date of release.

MladenJ, 02 Feb 2023It's really not clear to me that the Poco F2pro Global... moreWhen a Xiaomi phone is approaching 2 years old from the date of original launch/release, Xiaomi frequently releases updates that will result to your Xiaomi phone charging super slow or with the battery draining very fast, you'll be forced to junk your Xiaomi phone and upgrade.

At first, I thought it was just coincidence because the Xiaomi phone is 2 years old. But I've owned 12+ Xiaomi phones in the past including this last one (Poco F2 Pro), and have noticed a clear pattern. On the last few updates, battery mysteriously drains very fast or phone suddenly charges very slow. It's like Apple intentionally slowing down old iPhones so you upgrade to a newer model.

With Xiaomi phones, it's slowing the charging speed and increasing the battery drain. My advice is to NEVER update your Xiaomi phone when it is approaching 2 years old. BEWARE OF THE LAST FEW UPDATES for your old Xiaomi phone. They are meant to slow down the charging or rapidly drain the battery or both. That's planned obsolescence Xiaomi style.

It's really not clear to me that the Poco F2pro Global doesn't get Android 13 and the Redmi K30 pro gets it, and they are exactly the same phones, I've had this Poco for the third year, so far I haven't had any problems with the USB type C charging slot, but I notice that the battery drains 1-2 % per hour without using a mobile phone. In the settings, I set Battery saving and turned off all unnecessary applications that were running, but when I restart the phone, they turn on by themselves in the memory. What to do .

Xiaomi released 16 bug fix updates YES, but majority of them without ever updating the security patch! My Poco F2 Pro NEVER HAD security updates monthly. Security updates were quarterly at best and 6-8 months at worst. There were no more security updates on the second year. That's how horrendous Xiaomi's security software updates and android software updates are. I repeat, anybody even remotely concerned about security of their phone banking and other online payment transactions should avoid ALL XIAOMI phones at all costs!

And while it is a pain to use the China Weekly/Stable ROM out side of China or if you're not Chinese, the only other way to access the full features was to flash a Xiaomi.EU custom ROM which basically makes a more updated version of the Global ROM by building off of the China Stable/Weekly base.

                            - 46 stable updates between 2020-03-24 and 2022-11-04.

                            For POCO F2 Pro (Global) there were ;
                            - 16 stable updates between 2020-05-28 and 2022-06-24

In addition there were other releases for Europe (this version is better adapted to the EU data privacy laws, highly recommended), as well as for Russia, Indonesia and Turkey.

CHRF2PRO, 19 Jan 2023Is it official? No update to Android 13 for F2 Pro?Maximum will be Android 12 with MIUI 14.

Xiaomi will continue to officially support the device.

Weekly MIUI builds have stopped. (Normal for age of device)
                                Stable/Quarterly builds will continue.

January 2023 build is, "POCO F2 Pro EEA V13.0.8.0.SJKEUXM", which is MIUI 13/Android 12.

Xiaomi intends to release an Android 12 build with MIUI 14 for this device in the first quarter of 2023, it is currently in a testing phase.

The device is not slated to receive any official Android 13 builds or higher.

It is EVENTUAL that the device will stop being supported officially at some point.

                                Accept that.

However, if you do have the device and really want to keep it alive much longer that it is supported then your only option is to unlock your bootloader and flash a custom ROM.

                                >

On XDA, in the device's pages, there are multiple threads with many builds.

In addition you can find really informative guides in the entire process of bootloader unlocking, flashing, rooting, etc there as well.

CHRF2PRO, 19 Jan 2023Is it official? No update to Android 13 for F2 Pro?I'm 101% sure there's no Android 13 update for the Poco F2 Pro. Xiaomi can't even provide monthly security updates for the Poco F2 Pro, how much more major software updates like Android 13 or 14. If you are concerned with updates and security (that is, if you use credit card or banking transactions on your phone), AVOID ALL XIAOMI phones at all costs.

Get an upper midrange A series Samsung phone like the A53. Samsung A5X series phones starting with the A53 last year will get guaranteed 4 major Android software updates and 5 years of guaranteed security updates. And they cost much less than the Poco F2 Pro ever was. Even Google's Pixel phones can't beat it. The latest Pixel phones (Pixel 7 and 7 Pro) only get 3 major Android software updates.
