Also in Redmi, the Pro has been a better choice than the Pro+ for the last two gens.

I like this phone more than Poco F6 Pro. It has way less weight and smaller width. Plastic back is better than glass. Glass always breaks.

I was then able to change icons but still when downloading icon packs it seems that there are issue with choosing a launcher as it says it cannot be done automatically. I will fiddle more. I am now wasting hrs to try to get a compatible live wallpaper, still not able... : /

POCO F6 Owner, 11 Jun 2024DISCLAIMER: Stop asking for 2024 phones to still get a preh... more1. "Detect presence". Just turn it off. Its a safety feature that automatically turns off the screen if you're not using it(i.e. tapping the screen) for more than 10 seconds.
that way if you doze off while watching tiktok, the phone would turn off and not just play whatever you are watching hundreds of times untill you wake up. another scenario is if someone stole your phone, if the screen is still on they can still tamper with it, but with this feature on it would turn off while the thief is running.
2. we're not using Apple, Icons are infinitely changeable.
3. You can disable it, and you did, so what's the problem?
these things you wrote are not even real issues this phone is currently having. you said you fiddled with it and got nothing, Welp looks like you haven't fiddled with it enough.

It feels smooth to play the game Warzone Mobile & Genshin Impact with the highest graphics. Even heat is acceptable.

Particularly when on a WhatsApp video call, the other side is complaining of hissing sound (a ceiling fan was running in the room). This was not happening when I was using Poco F1 (just recently changed to F6). May be this is due the fact that F6 is using top mounted microphone during video call. Poco should rectify this issue.

Of course it will run all these emulators perfectly. Just keep in mind the Nintendo switch emulators and maybe the ps2 ones will cause overheating on your phone

1. Software needs a couple of days to learn your preferences. Be patient.
2. F6 and X6 pro has the same software, so icons should be the same.

Now, coming back to the Poco F6: I own it since few days, I have the POCO F6 12GB/512GB International version and paid it around 400 Euro. The display is nice, the feeling in the hand is poor (my previous Moto G8 Power felt better). Despite that, the phone is quite nice in aesthetics and it would be fine for the price. Except...
1) Display keeps dimming. I tried fiddling in all possible menus -nothing to do. It dims but gets back to normal as long as you move the phone. It dims after like 12 seconds you keep it still. Yes, I switched Auto brightness off, I tried everything in the phone menus. Believe me, I work in IT. This is a huge defect. Not sure if it is only my phone, but I read many similar issues online, as well with POCO F3 and F5.
2) The icons, as soon as you choose any Theme, are awful. Really. I bought to my wife a POCO X6 Pro, that has even shadows under icons and works like a charm, I am repenting to have waited to buy the F6...
3) Swipe up brings up a Xiaomi app called Content Center, not the usual search. That cannot be changed. I had to disable it.Cringe.
In synthesis, it COULD have been a nice phone, but the Software experience is too crappy and the display dimming is annoying while you are trying to read anything.
My final judgment is that I won't buy it again and I would rather go for the POCO X6 Pro or something similar. It's a shame they made us waiting so long to pull up such disappointing product.
I was willing to brag with my friends about a great phone and now I will just have to shut up..
Just my 2 cents.
