Agrt, 27 Aug 2024Transsion phone is similarly priced like Poco midranges. Al... moreI'm tired of the "I'd much rather buy this/that" crowd as well. This mostly comes from both Xiaomi and Transsion fans. Buy whatever phone that suits your needs and stop nagging people on what to spend their money on.

Just because your Infinix Note 40 has wireless charging doesn't make the Poco M6 Pro and Galaxy A15 not worth buying. And just because your Itel P55 5G has a 5G processor on the cheap, doesn't mean it comes with virtually no compromises compared to the Redmi 13C or Galaxy A05.

I'm not a Transsion hater, but they're so massively overrated where I live, because nobody seems to dare criticize them at all. I for one will never switch to any Transsion device because I know both their UI and software support suck ass.

I can't stand Transsion (Infinix, Tecno, Itel) fanboys flexing how much better their $100 phones can run Genshin than any Redmi or Poco for $180. Like dudes, good specs on paper for impossibly bargain prices don't automatically make a good phone, it's user experience, software support, and after-sales service you have to consider. Cheap doesn't come without compromise.

It's why I feel like Xiaomi made the right decision to focus on improving other things beyond just giving a fast processor for their Redmi phones. People need to stop looking at high benchmark numbers alone when they're buying their next phone.

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 24 Aug 2024If this is almost the same phone as the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4... morePretty much the same. Just poco with different launcher and slightly less customization feature such as external icon pack and a 64 MP camera.
Basically Poco is a cheaper version of Redmi with similar specs.

If this is almost the same phone as the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, does the software difference between POCO & Redmi phones justify the price gap?

Are there more ads/bloatware/less features on the POCO variant of HyperOS compared to Redmi's HyperOS?

Anyone having problem with weak WiFi range/reception? The WiFi signal on my old Redmi Note 8T is much better (1-2 "sticks" more) in the same place of the house. Poco M6 Pro loses signal closer to the router.

But anyway, I presumed you have used a phone having a virtual proximity sensor? Was it durable and did it work well? I know a physical one has a better reliability or a more precise proximity detection, but a virtual one should still be good at what it's supposed to do, right?

And, are you currently using a flagship phone? Or what phone are you using?.. 🤭

M.f.f, 11 Jan 20241080p 30fps Android 13 in 2024 ...Boycott these brandsUnreal. Android 14 came with the 1st HyperOS release for the M6 Pro. Currently running 1.0.4.0 since yesterday via OTA update here. Android 13 was only with the old MIUI. Xiaomi/Poco promised 2 Android Updates - so the M6 Pro would get Android 15, perhaps next year...and 2 years more Security updates...but no more Android 16, etc.

Agrt, 01 Aug 2024Its rare for phone these days to use 695 so little option t... moreThe G99 "Ultra" does fine into the M6 Pro - as long, as you don't compare this to a 13T Pro for instance - which it isn't. And as long, as you do set the system graphics driver via developer options active, instead of the default driver, as being written before, because then, the display is much less sluggish and responsive more, as fast as that little G99 Ultra SoC can go - otherwise, yes, no NFC, no 5G. Hint: 6G comes into 2030... :-) I've just wished for added 5G, and a faster SoC for the asking price - but one can't have it all, for so little money. LTE can still go up to 250/300 MBit speeds (4G) but is from most providers being capped at 50Mbit/s, go figure ! Same goes for cheap(er) 5G contacts, being paid monthly into the EU - being cap'ed at 50 Mbit/s, so there's no speed bonus over 4G.

I own only the small 8GB/256GB M6 Pro - i found 12/512GB a bit useless into that G99 Ultra Helio SoC, since it's not a Dimension 8300 Ultra/9200+/9300+ SoC - and only UFS 2.2....not any faster.

But hey, one can get the M6 Pro 8/256GB for as low as 150 bucks, via DHGate from the EU with coupon i've read - i paid 175 last month, somewhere else.

A possible Poco M7 Pro should offer 5G, and of course, a faster SoC, for real. But the M6 Pro is good enough, for daily tasks - if you're not playing with it, and even that into low fps is being possible. I don't, just the usual stuff, reading news via browser, surfing the web, messenger chats, Signal & Whatsapp, and eMails...nothing more, nothing less. Good enough for the task(s).

Yesterday, the Update to Xiaomi HyperOS 1.0.4.0 was a 198 MB download and took a while...after 2 reboots, it's running as well, as the older 1.0.3.0 HyperOS release here.
