Anonymous, 17 Sep 2024What good is performance if battery can't support it? ... moreIf you use the phone for normal stuff and trough browser without horrible apps (like Facebook) and games (a lot of such) it will last you two days with 5 H SOT a day. If you don't there's no phone that will. Future more you can optimise for horrible games with Game turbo too preserve battery (720P) if that's what you want. Let's say it doubles it that way giving the GPU 4x less work to do (to 1080P). SOT when frying it a lot with gaming on let's say Dolphine emulator in 3x resolution (FHD form PAL) on Vulkan backend (for games that will work with it and with anisotropic filtering, HDR post processing, costume high resolution textures...) is about 5 H (and FPS stay above 50 for titles that work good) or half what you get with less taxing workloads so not bad. Same goes for native Android more demanding games.Your mileage will vary depending what you do to pore thing.
You don't want performance limiting and don't expect a fine scheduler tuning from Xiaomi, for that you will have to pay more, a lot more. If you want a phone with better SOT in regular use cases pick a older flagship with LTPO AMOLED for a little more money and it still won't be better or last considerably longer for heavy duty gaming. I mean really... huge battery in gaming laptops last 1.5 to 2 H when gaming and I don't see anyone complaining.

Poco x6 pro does overheat but It's completely manageable, for the price you can't get anything better. It's a solid and cheap solution no matter where you are, it supports barely enough bands to work properly worldwide. Though i would avoid buying It if i were located in North America due to the lack of proper support tò the network bands. Apart from North America, this device works flawlessly anywhere. Good job Poco!! Thanks

Why can't the power usage be lower when not running heavy things? Either Xiaomi doesn't know how to optimize power usage according to currently running tasks or this Mediatek processor just sucks. Sadly there are no full kernel sources released. So custom ROM devs can't try fixing it themselves either.

Very reliable smartphone but 5g overheats

Redmi Note 13 Pro has a better 200MP camera compared to the POCO X6 Pro's 64MP. I would suggest the POCO X6 Pro here.

V353M1R, 09 Sep 2024X6Pro or RN13Pro5G ? My RN8Pro died and I need new, all-pur... moreThe Poco is faster (1.4x CPU, 2x GPU 2+ even with much faster RAM and storage), RN Pro QC has better IPS and more capable quad bined twice (VS once on X6 Pro) JM 3 Samsung isocell with arguably better (more) light capabilities so even with same processing it will still look better on Note. On medium use about 5 H a day (even with little bit of gaming hire and there as long as you stay on better optimised side) SOT both will last you about two days. Older flagship or semi flagship with variable refresh rate AMOLED is your next step in battery life on light to moderate use and avoid P-OLED's anyway. I doubt you will find a very good variable LCD IPS even if you want one. Would like to see a E-INK colour self stand DAP with embedded OS but that's my wishful thinking. Disclaimer is I don't really (at least not seriously) game on Android (I mean come on) nor use cameras nor will they ever be on specialized (designed for) hardware level's (Nokia did it once to a decent point and shot idiot and with very good flash on original Pureview 808 but it's a long gone history now, especially regarding flash).

What I'm most afraid of is the poor battery life in Redmi and overheating issues. And 12/512 version costs more then Poco in my country. Could someone give me some advice? I'm not a gamer. Just daily use. I've read and watched xx reviews and tests, but still don't know which one to choose :)

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2024You probably have the good quality piece and they got lemon... moreBattery lasts as you treat it. It can punch nearly there day's of light mostly browser use about 3 H SOT per day or you can sipp it out in about 5 H heavy gaming on something not really optimised good to about 7 H on rarely good optimised (by design and level of backend optimisations). Similarly outer (battery sonda) temperature also varies going up to 47° C to 40° C (on 24° C ambience) for given gaming examples So it can get a hot cookie (maxing 15+ W) but it ain't gonna hurt you. Of course you can brick anything if you put enough energy in doing so. Xiaomi did cut corners but a little guy really digs in if you demand that out of him.
Mali side of things ain't rosy but far from worst offenders regarding open drivers (with potential speeding thing's up with reacent mainlining) let's say EGLS up to 3.0 will work in emulators while Vulkan will still be problematic (Dolphin, PPSSPP). On property blob's for better or worse everything works and it chews it admirable enough (Alian Isolation, ARK, CarX Street...).
