Finally a phone like a true xiaomi mi4 which started in India as a cheap and best performing, A phone that I've been waiting after mi4 to buy on the Indian market Lots of batter,The dragon845,Cool Cameras and most of all the price it'll definitely be a hit and would fuck out honour play sales in India

hey guys .don't flash the rom . if u do , there won't be face unlock with IR ray. plus no AR cam. i think miui is enough

Was about to get Mi A2 but then this phone suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Then absolutely mash that pre-order button. For just a 100 USD more you get snapdragon 845, bigger copper for better cooling, sustainable performance, Camera (not important) is good enough for me, effing 3.5mm jack, and microSD. All about 375 USD (converted local currency) for the 6GB/64GB version. That's insane!
Yes the smartphone is not all good. But it's easy to be dealt with such as:
1. Plastic Back: I use a rugged case in all my phone so either plastic or glass back is useless
2. Notch: Just disable it on the settings and no notch. Although it's an IPS panel which cant switch off the screen besides it, im totally fine.
3. MIUI: I have bad time with MIUI 7,8,9 with my Xiaomi Mi 5. Flashing it with LineageOS improve performance dramatically. If this one with MIUI sucks to, then flash it. No big deal.
Overall, really excited to using this phone. Hopefully what GSMArena stated on the review in the performance section turns out to be true such as no throttling and smooth MIUI so there's no need to flash custom rom.

But other OEMs buy it from Samsung ( or other manufacturer) at a premium, which is loaded on to price tag.
Even with OLED panels, Samsung kills the user experience by it's bloated software.

Beside the plastic build and terrible notch this phone is the best value for money.

Undoubtedly the BEST phone in recent times
Has all the basic features lacking in today's flagship devices
- 3.5 mm jack
- FM radio
- IR blaster
- plastic body (safety is important than beauty)
The ONLY drawback for me is the "notch"
Please avoid the notch for the later models..

When you say it has an IR blaster, are you referring to the IR light for face unlock or the typical Xiomi IR blaster for remote control features?

Even in launch they said they will provide kernel source etc and u shld be able to flash AOSP roms etc... U will be made available with latest builds on Mi forums, which you can flash urselves...

Or even 50$?
It's not like Xiaomi has to cut corners for bringing a Flagship for 300$.

display ! And a plastic back plus non-removable battery!? Copy apple or die...
