I mean, if you want a known brand that actually update their phones (and eventually release kernel sources too so community can develop) - there are probably some Chinese phones that could compete but will be abandoned after 6 months of launch.

When I decided to buy this phone, I has setup my mind to accept it's flaws.
As long as it is still made by Xiaomi, I buy.
Say whatever you hate where it doesn't have NFC, no water resistant, no AMOLED, no metal body, no premium glass body, only Gorilla Glass 3, outdated and dull look, use MIUI that is lousy than stock Android, hate it when it is cheaper than Mi 8.
Hater gonna hate, lover gonna love.

What is good sign is during launch event it was announced that kernel source will be released on same date (29th august) when phone is made available for sale. They also mentioned at least quarterly security update & has new MIUI launcher with app drawer to be closer to stock android looks. Looks like xiaomi analysed reasons for OnePlus's success in Indian market and positioned poco in India specifically to match up with OnePlus 6 and has not left any box unticked while it comes to going shoulder to shoulder with it.

I have bought 3 different phones of xaiomi hoping that I would be able to mirror them to my tv using a cable,none of them does it, so do this one does ? I am not interested in the wireless way at the moment, for what I want to do.

I have seen lot of review videos on Youtube for this phone. All the reviewers have the armoured version. Means Xiaomi realises if they had sent the normal plastic version, the build quality would have been ripped apart.

Xiaomi is fast becoming Samsung. Samsung gets trolled for using plastic bodies on phones costing 15k and having mediocre hardware. The only thing that makes this phone into a headline is 'SD 845 at Rs 20k'. That's about it. Rest of the aspects including design are just forgettable.
The first phone that I got was a Redmi Note 3 with SD650 at about Rs 11k. And it had metal build. Now Xiaomi is charging almost double, body is plastic and main camera has gone down to 12 MP.
They have lost the way. I was expecting them to launch Mi 8 in India which would have been a worthy challenger to One Plus which is selling so well here. But they have chosen to introduce a watered down phone which makes no sense. I could get a Honor Play at about the same price and it has better display, better build and a comparable camera setup.

Latest bluetooth tech (with aptxHD)
Quick charge.
Designed like a phone
If you ask anything more than this then what u'll get is a lot much expensive phone which are already present in the market.
Just a combination of better screen and camera will cost you more 20K to 40K(INR) depending on the brand you go with.
Awaiting to get a hands-on experience to see if the specs live up to the mark .

Most of the SD 845 smartphonesare only 3500 mAh.
But, of course, more the battery range the better.

Anyone can tell me why Xiaomi launch poco f1 while they have Mi8 with latest SoC ?
I mean the specs are almost the same, so is it not better to own Mi8 ?
