Everyone, I suggest you do not buy this phone! I just got it a month ago, and I accidentally dropped it like 3.5 feet from the air on to the ground on to a regular home floor. After that, 75% of the screen was all black! but touch screen is still responding. And, if you hate lagging and crashing, this phone is not for you.

[deleted post]upgrade to latest software(it under clocks your device but you can always over clock using software) and install greennify. or
dont install update only install greennify,

Hi, I have had quit a few mobile phones in my lifetime, but the Redmi 1S beats them all, and that is not in a positive way, but certainly very negative. The phone belongs to my wife; and today i was going to send a SMS, but gave it up,
1. The keyboard disappeared, and have yet to get it back.
2. Tried to remove back cover as per instruction sheet, press down on the middle and use middle finger to pull against USB port, did not work. I know the Chinese is smart people, but how in the hell did they got away with the 1S, as far as I am concerned, it should never have been marketed!

Battery life for redmi 1s is very low. Can anyone suggest how to increase battery life ?
I don't want to update to v45 because in newer version, they decreases processor speed to 998mhz.
Please anyone tell me how to increase battery life (i know turning of data, Bluetooth etc.)

I love this phone now. Previously it had problem of heating , however after the MIUI V45 , all problems are resolved and now i feel it is like Apple iphone , and the build quality is at par with Apple brand.

Maybe use performance mode in Scurity...Power.
Play games using that.Other times it maybe better to run in 1ghz so less battery drain and less heat

This is very disappointing that in v45 update xiaomi is cheating us by turning 1.6ghz quad core processor into 998mhz dual core processor to reduce heating problem of phone. So, thats why our phones starts lagging in this update. I have checked cpu info in antutu and there is written 998mhz and only two cores are running(core0 &1) and remaining two cores are in sleep mode (core 2 & 3)But it should not be the solution of our problems because we everyone purchased this phone by seeing its specs... Now they making fool us by saying that they have solution of heating problem(they officially announce it) but they never mentioned that by underclocking it.... Now this phone is not worthy because they slowly starts degrading specs hidden from their customers

I faced problems too. But their October update changed everything.
Now no heating issues, battery backup increased, no unexpected errors
What I would say is at this price nothing matches this phone.
They have assured kitkat update and kitkat doesn't consume lot of battery and ram than compared to 4.3.
Performance wise this phone has only 14000 score in antutu due to heavy customized xiaomi rom. Unofficial custom rom kitkat update like cyanogen mod 11 is already available online. You will definitely get the performance out of this beast.

Sirs I am facing a simple problem and need your help. The sound level while speaking on this phone (both incoming and outgoing) calls is really low as compared to other phoenes. Cant hear the other person properly and the other side has already complained that they cant hear my voice properly. How to resolve this issue. Thanks . And I read somewhere in a post here that remove some google apps which are not needed. So can i remove apps like Play Books. Play News, Play Movies etc. But first question reg call sound is imp

I bought this phone on 14 oct. 2014. I received this phone on 17 oct. 2014 at 13:05. But phone not switch ON till date and time. I contact to Mi C.C. and flipkart C.C. but not resolve my problem till date.So I have bad experince this device.

I am facing a simple problem. the sound level while talking on the phone is really low as compared to my earlier phones. How to improve it as cant hear people properly and the other side also hears low level of voice. Its a major irritant. Please help. i have already upgraded to v45

After using it this phone has the best camera... It will beat the camera of any other phone on $250 price range... Even its brother redmi note can't beat the camera.
