bought this phone one month earlier, it was on MIUI 6 and running better but to use VoLTE feature I updated it to the MIUI 8 from official website but after that it started lagging too much, this is not I wanted after an update.. camera, facebook, minimizing an app, dialing a number, even sometimes unlocking the phone takes too much time and says just a sec....
I tried all the methods to speed it up, cleaning cache, single task, removed unused apps, performed reset but it stays lagged..
don't buy the 1 GB addition by the way 2GB addition is too good.

I bought this phone for MYR399 which converts to about USD90 a year ago with the 8GB/1GBROM version. Chose the gray option but I kinda regret it, because now looking at the videos on Youtube, the white option doesn't look too shabby! The 4.7 Inch 720P display looks amazing for this price! Phones under 5 inches are the sweet spots for me in my opinion for one handed usage. The phone works great for regular day to day tasks like Whatsapp, Facebook, Tumblr, Web Browsing. Games on these work well too but I keep it simple with only chess and sudoku on my phone. I'm more of a tablet person when it comes to gaming :D. The battery life on this thing is good but I managed to push more juice when I changed the launcher to Nova Launcher Prime. I get close to 5 Hours Screen on time with heavy 4G usage. This phone is great for it's price and is excellent for minimalistic users!

kunal, 12 Dec 2016How can I Enable VoLTE option I am usinusing MIUI 8.0First go to MIUI forum website . Download ROM for redmi 2/2 prime . Then after downloading go to updater app and then in the top right corner you will see three dot then click on that and choose update package then select your downloaded rom and it will reboot your device and after upgrading your device will support voLTE....

How can the manufacturer distribute a smartphone without a user manual. It comes with a one page pamphlet that shows you how to put in the sim and where the buttons are - nothing more! A smartphone is a complicated device that needs a user manual!

I do have an issue with Redmi 2 Camera with in 11 months , It is not working and warranty got just passed by two- three week and now they are saying need to pay big amount for replacement , which is not worth . I will go and buy a new phone which is trust worthy . Customer care also spin their story differently each time you call ,
