My boyfriend gifted me this phone on my birthday......redmi 2 prime is one of the best phone photo quality battery life...... everything is just superb must buy phone......love it

My read me 2 prime getting overheated and battery charges goes downwords. I removed sd card but still the same problem persists again. Only three months old.

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2016Avoid memory cardfrom some of the other posts i read i have renamed a video file to nomedia and it work for me. i didnt have any heating issues to begin and i have played 2 mkv format movies back to back and didnt have any heating issues .

bought redmi 2 prime online for INR 6434 republic day offer on 26 january. my views on the phone .
what i liked : good battery life,no heating issues , no lag , miui 7 themes ,
what i didnt like : music quality (in- ear w/o equilizers) , false battery indicator (zero when it was 100% full ) , camera quality for a 8MP was not upto the mark ,
i have not performed any enhancements like rooting or custom recovery nor used a rom .

Good phone for its price bought the phone from
snapdeal and as expected of a
xiaomi phone its worth the
money spent. After using it
for 3 days here are some main
Pros and cons: Pros:
1. Awsome sound quality- if
u are a music freak.... u have
got to try this phone...the
external speaker itself is
alredy good enough n loud too but when u use an
earphone its a whole
different experience.... the
bass is just freakin awsome.
Its so good that it dosnt
matter wat kind of earphone u use cheap or costly it
sounds awsome, but a good
earphone is more prefered. 2. MIUI is awsome due to its
themes n its preety smooth n
u also get firmware updates.
I imidiately got an update
(625 mb size approx) for the
MIUI 6 when i first booted the phone. And on top of
that xiaomi might provide a
MIUI 7 update for this phone
as well in the days to come. 3. Camera might not be the
best but its good enough on
both the rear and front and
focusing is also preety good
and the shutter speed is quite
fast. 4. There are very few bloat-
wares so the ram space
available for the user is 1.3 gb
out of 2gb at first boot unlike
Asus and even the few bloat-
wares present were quite useful. 5. It has fast charge 1.0 6. It has 4g(although havnt
tested that yet) and also have
OTG support Cons:
1. I thought the heating issue
found on redmi 2 (old
version) would be solved in
this new version of Redmi 2
prime but the phone still tends to heat up even in
normal usage but still
tolerable but it dose heat up
alot during heavy usage.
Hope this gets fixed in the
next update. 2.The yellowish colour
problem found on the redmi 2
camera photos on using the
flash light is still an issue in
the new redmi 2 prime. 3. For som1 who is a heavy
gamer or heavy user myt
face battery problems since
its only 2200mah. But for a
light user it isnt much of a
problem. But really wish it was 2500mah. But if MIUI 7 is
provided for this phone and if
the rumors were true than
the battery consumption by
the phone will be reduced by
some percentage.

I am using redmi 2,and earlier I recommended to my friends, and about 10 friends bought the redmi 2/redmi 2 prime, after three months of use,now I am extremely disappointed that 3 handset dead may be due to over heating below the camera,and service centre denying the warranty because of some stupid reasons(like very small dent in the outer case, and saying misuse )but friends, strongly believe that small dent due to very light drop is not the reason of dead condition, because they used after that. Some friends saying that phone gone dead because of software problem which cause heavy heating below the camera, and very fast battery draining..Even after updating this issue is not solved. please don't buy

eventhough redmi 2 prime is 4G LTE phone , but it is not showing 4G tower when i insert reliance jio 4G card, and network selection for LTE,network not showing ,eactually already there is powerrfull network in place , so , can any body know ? how to solve problem.
Any body know , how to resolve my problem ?

Redmi 2 Prime having bad hardware, all patented good hardwares are with other brand mobiles, so never go behind good specification,good responsive touch,good OUTER build quality,good software,Lot of sensors,good audio/ear phone out put,good camera and low price. Now everyone suffering that HEAT due to lack of good patented circuit mother board , my index finger getting HOT now...bye, better alternate is Lenovo A 6000 PLUS and Meizu M2.
