steven360, 01 Oct 2019i actually prefer phones with bezels because it saves batte... moreIt was perfect when 16:9 was a standart aspect ratio, but now you can find phones with 18:9, 18.5:9, 18.7:9, 19:9, 19.5:9, 20:9, 21:9. This is ridiculous.

Bought from Taobao two years ago and used until now still good ,just the battery not yet perfect so I changed another phone.
I bought the highest version (4G,64G ram) ,at first u need to diy to install google services so that can use google things normally, then another problem is the wifi still using 11N not ac,then the youtube quality just can use 1080only,more than that will not play properly;
camera just soso ,when I get this travel it almost not taking good pictures at night until I bought a Gimbal to solve the problem.
phone called problem have,especially while using whatsapp recording voice msg when travel with any vechnicals ,almost 90% of ppls feedback thats my phone problem,sound is very lag,I'm not sure that's the hardware problem or just sim vendor not good at all...
one more thing, play some games are no problem at all, u even can play Pubg with low resolution with no lag.
and the battery could be changed easily if it's broken,worth to buy with such a cheap price

Easily the best phone I've had since I started using smartphones seven years back. I bought it when it came out due to the phone being a very good deal for the performance, screen size and mainly the fact the manufacturer is very kind when it comes to software modification. If you somehow don't like MIUI like I do, there are plenty of alternatives and the phone isn't difficult to root - it only takes a while due to privacy and security measures.
The camera is...pretty bad, not gonna lie, but what do you expect for a phone at this price? It gets a lot better with the Pixel Camera, although there's still far superior phones for this if you want to take photos often. The performance of the CPU is perfectly serviceable if you're playing something light, it starts to chug when you play something more graphically intensive.
The sound is also okay for the fact it is a rather cheap phone - and with some work and a dedicated program, the microphone is simply nice. There isn't much extra to it, other than it tends to record some background hum and noise rather easily, so if you don't have a quiet environment or room and you're recording something, you're gonna have a bad time.
The screen is also surprisingly decent - Xiaomi didn't really muck around with it. For being an HD screen only, the performance and responsiveness is very respectable.
Overall, if you're looking for a very cheap phone to give to your old dad or something, then yeah this is a good deal, but when you consider Xiaomi releases these yearly? You might want to get them the Redmi 7.

Using this cellphone for last 2 years, one of the perfect cellphone of my life, battery, processing in daily usage, is upto mark...storage is enough for me.. simply loved it

Boss, 17 May 2019One of the best Phone used...!Agree! For the price the Redmi 4x has a lot to offer!
And miui 10.3 is great for the 4x.
No bugs, no problems! Long run time...

perfect, 25 Apr 2019Value for money is just 10/10. But it's a shame that Xiaomi... moreSame for me, main reason why I bought the 4x. Unfortunately it's not just Xiaomi, no one makes smal screen phones anymore. I would be curious what a 5'' bezel less smartphone would be like.
I'm waiting to see if Apple will release a new SE, it's my last hope, plus they actually prove updates.

No security updates for more than half a year.
I noticed something was wrong, when users asked Xiaomi to enable the colours in the notification LED for 4x (4a already had colours enabled).
Xiaomi's reaction was to switch production and manufacture all new 4x with just white LEDs. What is wrong with someone or a company that would react in that way?
I know I won't buy new Xiaomi products and will sell the Xiaomi lights I already own.
