Pasta Strife, 01 Mar 2018While I appreciate you trying to make people aware because ... moreBefore trying to argue, whatever you said is right or wrong, one thing has to be clarified. You cannot insert a graphics card in a mobile. Adreno Graphics is the internal graphics and whatever you argued with, are external graphics. Moreover, I think, you should be aware of the fact that ARM architecture can't be compared with x86 architecture. Though it is so, it would had been legitimate if you had compared Adreno with the internal graphics of an Intel processor. If you go to the spec sheet of an Intel processor you will find facts about the display resolution supported by the respective processors. Well arguments are always healthy on the front that it reveals plenty of facts and figures.

To explain more about "Every
mobile device's display should match the DISPLAY
ASPECT RATIO supported by the processor
employed by the device to function efficiently."
Let us consider the processor Snapdragon 660. From Qualcomm's spec sheet this processor can support display resolutions upto 2560 x 1600 Pixels. This resolution is termed as WQXGA which falls in the aspect ratio 16:10. If a mobile employs this processor it can support a display resolution which should be a PROPER subset of the display resolution supported by the processor to function properly. But if the same mobile employs a display with 16:10 aspect ratio and which doesn't exceed the display resolution supported by the processor 660, its performance would leap further. But, when the device employs a display with resolution greater than the resolution supported by the processor its performance will drop very badly.
Android device is entirely different and we cannot compare it Windows desktop.

Pasta Strife, 01 Mar 2018While I appreciate you trying to make people aware because ... moreWell. My final words beyond which I'm not ready to say anything Good or Bad about this phone. If the phone is Good everyone gains and whatever said by me becomes wrong and bad which would make me feel ashamed of myself. But, on the contrary if this phone fails, every consumer who has bought this device loses money and you become wrong and you've to feel ashamed. I think you are educated enough to understand this basic fact. Let us wait and see the phone's performance in reality. Deal or No Deal.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2018Well it has oleophobic coating so it has some kind of protection.Yes it does have CGG I have been using it for over a month without screen protector and there are zero scratches. It's as good as new. And that's nice because Redmi Note 4 did not have CGG and it always got lotsa micro scratches everywhere if used without screen protector.
There is oleophobic coating on the screen but don't really know about the back because it does pick up some smudges but they're not that bad. Tho that's only on the Black variant that I have. The lighter colors don't pick up smudges.

This is a great choice, I have it from 10 days and everything is ok, except 2 issues :
1. incoming call pop up doesn't work. It means when I'm using an application and a call comes, it appears in full screen. Does anyone know how to change?
2. Outgoing calls, I don't know who is in call, there's no notification says he is in a call. Is there a solution?

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2018Dear friend, I am not a scientist. Every little thing is av... moreWhile I appreciate you trying to make people aware because you think there's something wrong with these phones, it's not right to do so when you don't know how stuff works. The limitation of resolution is not because a processor can't handle that. It's the bandwidth limitation of the connection between the GPU and the display. For example an Adreno 505 or 506 can run a 1440p or even 4K display if given the needed connection bandwidth.
For example a GTX 980 Ti is way faster than a GTX 1050 but you can run a 8K monitor with the GTX 1050 while you can't do that with the GTX 980 Ti.
That's because the connection bandwidth of DisplayPort 1.2 used in 980 Ti is not enough to run higher than 5120x3200 while DP 1.4 on the GTX 1050 can run up to 8K resolution.
SD625 has enough bandwidth to run 2160*1080 natively. Therefore no compression or "scaling" is needed.
And the SD435 used in Q6 natively supports up to 1920*1200 that is true. But only LG and Qualcomm know what they have done. They might have used a different custom connection for that phone. Or maybe simply used some compression method just like DP uses to run 8K@60Hz.
And these stuff don't slow your phone. You could argue 2160*1080 is too much for Adreno 505 in games but that's about it.

AnonD-80360, 01 Mar 2018LG Q6 is running SD 435 which supports upto FHD(1920x1200)... moreWhy should I lie unnecessarily. What is the point. Some say that I'm a person hired by Xiaomi's competitor. For your information if a device is really bad no competitor would say that because they want consumer's to buy it and fail. If the product fails the failed consumer would never buy another product from the same company. To be honest actually I'm helping Xiaomi. To end up when you've the brains to find out that 435 can only support 1980 x 1200 Pixels you will definitely have the brain to find out the display resolution supported by 625. Another piece of information is that there is a lot of difference between Display Resolution and Display Aspect Ratio. The reality is that, I can wake a person who is asleep but I can't do it who is pretending to be.

whereas Redmi note 5 is running SD 625 which supports FHD + (2160 x 1440) so SD 625 can easliy run FHD+ without any upscaling..

I am a vigorous reader and aggressive learner. Though I've written a lot against these mobiles, I am not against Xiaomi and I have written everything very decently with dignity and pride. Why am I doing this. It is just only for the people who can't afford to spend money lavishly. These budget phones will not sell in the West. It is specially made for India. Ethically it is not right to expect more from budget phones. But at the same time it has to do really something for what it is made.

My conclusion is that every mobile processor supports one specific display aspect ratio. Every mobile device's display should match the DISPLAY ASPECT RATIO supported by the processor employed by the device to function efficiently.
