always lag. Not Good for Gaming. I bought 2 Redmi 9 for my two younger brother and both Redmi9 always crashed and lag. What to do?

This is THE phone for me! Type-C, FHD+, Ultrawide, and a LOT! I don't mind the 32GB. I've been living with 8GB (With 4GB full with system).

Bluerain, 26 Sep 2020I already tried Realme C3 lowlight shots. Deleted all shots... morexiaomi did the same by launching 9c and 9a. Many indian users are complaining about the touch issues and but I guess the problem is not in the global version. The problem was with swipe up gestures which caused the touch to not work from the edges at the lower half of the screen and it was fixed with the software update but anyway both phones are good in the budget segment. At least both of them last longer than my primary device s9.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2020I already posted about the issue I was having with the low ... morelol no. Gsmarena review says it has 328nits brightness, which is already too high for indoors. So the answer to his question is: Yes, its brightness is enough for indoors.
In fact, it's one of the best phones if you do night time reading because its lowest brightness is lower than other phones.

Secondly, Gsmarena review says Redmi 9 reaches 428nits brightness if you turn on "Auto Brightness". Which is VERY high - more than what you need for outdoors.

Generally, brightness around 380nits is enough for outdoors (my current phone has 380nits). You can easily type messages, make calls, book uber and so on.
Though if you want to play PUBG while sitting under the Sun, then you'll need a phone with 450-550nits brightness.

This phone's brightness will only be too low for you if:
              1. You don't want to turn on Auto Brightness while going out, which I can understand.
              2. You've to use your phone under sunlight for everything, like Games & Movies. Because they require you to catch minor details to enjoy them, which can only be seen in sunlight if your phone has 450-550nits brightness.
Though you can't find that in this price. Best you're gonna get is around 400nits.

indecisive, 28 Sep 2020Thanks for replying. The battery on redmi note 7 is actuall... moreI disagree.
Redmi Note 7 has had battery problems since the day it came out. I used to own it when it was new, and I still see same complaints from back then in its reviews.
It only used to last about 4-4.5 hours while gaming.

Redmi Note 7 has one of the lowest performance of all Snapdragon 660 phones. Even Snapdragon 636 phones like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 have better gaming performance.

Helio G80 is notably more powerful than Snapdragon 660. It gives 40+FPS in PUBG, while Snapdragon 660 can only manage around 30FPS..

So if you buy RN7, only buy it for cameras or you'll regret it.

check yo eyes again, 28 Sep 2020dude, like I said before you either have a defective device... moreMan, I don't want to argue with you, believe me. But since I am just replying to someone that asked a specific question about the brightness, I provide my experience. My phone is already returned to Amazon, but before returning it I went to the shop to check if my phone was defective and I found out that all the Redmi 9 on display there had an awfully low brightness when compared to other phones.
So either all phones shipped to my country are from a defective lot, or my eyes are defective only when looking at Redmi 9 and work just fine with other phones.
Go check the review here on Gsmarena and they also say, literally, that "unfortunately, the maximum brightness is poor for an LCD at about 330 nits".
So it seems I am not lying at all, and I am not the only one noticing this. Of course you can live with it and use the phone even with a subpar brightness, if you wish. We even lived without smartphones back in the days. But why on earth shouldn't I say the truth when one asks for an honest opinion? Glad that you are satisfied with the your phone even if the official review in this site says its brightness is "poor" . I accept that. You say that you are satisfied, I say that I am not, the guy asking will decide whose advice is to be followed. Why can't you accept that? It will be nice to know his opinion once he buys the phone. Peace

Stop spreading lies about redmi 9. It's brightness is a bit lower than other phones but it's more than enough to use outside. You just have to turn on sunlight mode. So far I had no issues with the brightness. The display is sharp and clear. If you want more saturation, you can change color scheme to standard mode

I bought this phone 1 month ago. Now see it gets very hot near the left side of the camera module during even normal use. I think it's the processor overheating. The battery on redmi note 7 is actually good but redmi 9 is a battery champ in it's own right. They are actually quite similar gaming wise, redmi 9 edges just a bit. redmi 9 is also newer so I guess better software updates

We need more confirmations, I think the difference is between global version and the Indian one.

Sharkfan, 25 Sep 2020Guys can someone honestly tell me whether display brightnes... moreI already posted about the issue I was having with the low brightness of this phone.
Honestly I advise you to go to a physical shop if you can, with your old phone, then ask to see the max brightness of the Redmi 9.
Then place the two phones side by side and you will see that practically every smartphone manufactured in the last 10 years has a brighter display than the Redmi 9. Maybe you will find the screen bright enough if your last phone was a Nokia 3210 manufactured in 1999. Sure the phone has nice specs for the price but what is the point if you struggle to see the screen? The problem is clearly noticeable indoors also, not only outside with bright sunlight. If you look carefully, in Amazon reviews for example, you will see people complaining about this. Or, you can look at YouTube videos which compare the brightness of screens. Please do yourself a favour and don't make the mistake I did, buying the phone online without checking this with your own eyes.
Some guys here even speculated that I was paid to say bad things about this phone, so of course you are free to think I am lying, but I think you will thank me later if you follow my advice.
Now I have to go to the bank to collect my million dollars from Huawei, Samsung, Oppo etc....
