i updated this phone all the updates its very good, now running android 12 miui 13, when i bought it was the best deal now buget phones are better than this one but this one is very well balanced, never did any missbehaving i have 64gb 4gb ram,never warmed up always low temps never had lag i even played pubg and freefire and it runs, very good the 13mp can do x10 zoom and it looks actualy good the 8,5,2 mp secondary cameras are good only thing it an ultrawide thats bigger than 8mp would be nice this 8mp is ok but the resolution is almost 4k which is eh and the low light is worse on ultrawide,the lowlight on the 13mp is good and if its pitch black i can just use pro mode and make photos in the dark i set it lightly to wait a little for the photo or i can even set it more agresive and it will make pitch black photos like its day but it will take some seconds, the battery lasts up to 5 days usualy 4 with a lot of usage 2 to 3 days and with gaming 1 or 2 days

Better stick to Samsung and their One UI that has solid philosophy of stability and free of bugs.

Best budget phone I have ever had. Performance, battery, camera (specially selfie) are without flaw. MIUI 12 and MIUI 12.5 are bad for this phone. MIUI 13 is maybe not so bad, but keep it on MIUI 11 if you didn't already updated it.

I bought 2 redmi9 for my 1 for daughter and the other 1 for my sister, happy i chose the xiaomi brand but after 2 yrs its no longer usable, mother board damage even in minimal use (call and text, and browsing only). The other 1 from my sister just automatically switch off many times within the day. Now I'm hesitant to buy the same brand again. Just saying.

Does it worth it updating to the new version? It works ok now. I don't know it can be better because it's a simple phone, used only for basic apps like Facebook, Messenger, Wapp, browsing etc.

This is the WORST phone I have ever had it FREEZES all the time , so frustrating!!!
And the update made it worst !!

I dont know, pls who can help me, after the update of my redmi 9 to android 12 miui 13, the phone only recognizes one fingerprint at a time, I can not unlock it using another finger, even if I register it, it failed to unlock when i use it

Do not open the camera! If you do, it will freeze. When you try to turn it on, you will accidentally call emergency services, and you can't cancel. Stay away from this phone or At least do not update to Miui 13!

It continues even after having factory resetted it, and it's so bad I'm gonna try to install a custom ROM or ar least go back to MIUI 12.5

Got Android 12 with MIUI 13.0.1 in EEA Region in 09.12.2022. Until now it seen to work very well, way bettey than before with no freezes and no bugs than when it was on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5.5. Only the battery stand-by time seems to be a little shorter now.
