It's not down just to whether it's Snapdragon or mediatek. There's a common idea that mediatek phones can't get custom roms. It's true that most often you source code is not released for these. But it's going to change. This phone is being released to assume the mantel from the pocophone f1 and the beauty of that was the amount of custom roms available. They're still being released now. The phone is not getting an official global rom so if they're is no custom roms available, it won't be as big as people are predicting.

Have you not seen the numerous reviews online of the Dimensity 820 and Dimensity 1000? These aren't your typical mediatek chipsets and even the Helios P60 and P70 were massive improvements upon the likes of the p23, p25, x27 etc. They've been improving for a long time now and they're now elite level. Have a look at the geekbench and antutu scores from the redmi 10x 5g and even the vivo iq00 Z1. Have a look at the YouTube reviews of these phones. They're serious phones.
