I have one issue within this phone, when I connect any earphone i can't use earphone's mic so I should keep the phone close to my mouth, can you help me guys please?

Magnetic Sensor", there you can test the actual magnetic sensor of the phone as it points where the north is, then check the default compass app if it works the same as the Magnetic sensor test, if it is then indeed its just a map bug not your phone.

My wife and I bought one each on the strength of the review and other recommendations. Both went back for full refunds. Absolutely the worst phones we have ever owned!!! Kept losing networks, were an absolute farce when we went abroad as, despite the correct settings, they wouldn’t roam properly. Interface was just plain awful. The one good point for my wife was that the camera was very good. We’ve both gone back to new Motorolas.

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2023If it still does not work after Update of Google Maps &... morethanks. it is not completely isolated to my device because my neigbour has the same device (the 128 / 8 GB EU version) and she has the exact same Maps problem. When out in the field and calibrating the compass e.g. also by using live-view, the compass then works for about 40 seconds i.e. whin i spin myself round in a left circle, the map will rotate "to the right" and vice-versa thus pointing approx into the direction in which i hold the device. Aber about 40 seconds the compass simply "stops" and the map freezes in the last location. tapping the compass will then make "North up" and tapping the center-icon will swing the map back into the last positivon. The Xiaomi compass app works with no problem. as my neigbour has the same issue after MIUI14 update, i still don't know if it is xiaomi culpit or google or even if a factory reset will help but i (and she) weill wait untill at least one google maps update ..... because all other stuff just works like a newly oiled up machine :-) and somehow factory reset is like a horror movie to me (there are so many things that are not caught in Google One's backup).

rolandschweiger, 03 Mar 2023so i just sent a report via the xiaomi feedback-hub and mad... moreIf it still does not work after Update of Google Maps & so far its an isolated issue on your end, your last choice would be to do a factory wipe/reset to be sure it is MIUI14/A13 thats the culprit.
Haven't experienced it on mine so far aswell as my cousins Note 10 Pro on MIUI14/A13.

The only thing that i notice is that my battery drops i little too fast. Just a little. But phone is fine. I had lag here and there on Miui 13, but now is good. I will track my battery. I think my battery meter is showing that my WiFi use most of the battery now. Will see

rolandschweiger, 03 Mar 2023oh dear well i would like to avoid factory reset .... there... moreso i just sent a report via the xiaomi feedback-hub and made a screen-recorder-video where i demonstrated the issue where google maps refuses to use the compass while the xiaomi compass app works fine. Mainly think the culpit is google because it does work for once after uninstalling google maps updates, yet it might be some glitch with MIUI14? i'll see if i get any reply. Reported the same thing to Google via the feedback-service inside the Maps app.

Well i do think that it is a specific google maps problem. When i log out og the google account and clear cache / data of Maps and log back in, the first time opening the app ... the map just works fine and when i turn around in a circly while standing, the map turns the other way fine. After next restart of Maps, the problem persists again and the map refuses to swing into the heading direction. When driving in a car, it works and shows into the driving direction but not by using the compass sensors rather just by knowing which way the device is oriented. When walking (where this orientation of the map is more important) it does not work.
As all other apps work without any issue, i hesitate to do factory reset.

I flashed the latest MIUI 13 and did the update to MIUI 14 from the phone itself. So, I tested the issue you're having. No problems here. I did a factory reset after updating so maybe try that? I know it can be a hassle but it is usually recommended on major software updates, like this one that changes both the MIUI and the Android version.

for curiosity - do you have the GOOGLE MAPS PROBLEM - where the map no longer rotates / swings into the direction in which you hold the phone, and only shows North up - no matter what you press?
But the Xiaomi compass app works fine.

insecure, 02 Mar 2023I just switch my phone to austria region and right away i g... moreok ok. so far so good. This update clean a lot of my tiny lags that i had. very smooth, very nice. new life for my phone. some of the apps are opening much faster.

But my signal drops randomly while using the EEA rom. Since I live in the Americas maybe there's some stuff going on with it and my carrier, it is supposed to be the European rom after all. With Global that never happens. That´s why I'm hesitant to go back to EEA but if Global MIUI 14 doesn't release soon I might do it.

I have a... moreThe MIUI14 / Android13 is doing fine on my EU (EEA) version of RN10Pro - at 1st glance not too much of a difference --- the RAM management seems to have gotten better as more Apps seem to stick in the RAM (i have the 8 GB / 128GB version) so it does make sense to keep more things in RAM rather than forcestopping them by MIUIs earlier aggressiveness.
As mentioned in my other post, i only now have a problem with GoogleMaps but i don't think it is directly related to the update. The Map will no longer show into the direction of driving or walken. But the compass and GPS work fine as i can test it with Xiaomi Compass App. GoogleMaps now always points north.
Today i headed to APKMirror and manually installed the latest play services 23.07.14 (190400) and the problem persists.
Overall however MIUI 14 + Android 13 is doing fine -- go ahead and try it on your global version.
Is there actually a difference between global and eea rom?

anyone else experiencing Google Maps no longer shows map in driving / walking orientation?
Don't think this is directly related to the Android13 + MIUI14 upgrade, yet GoogleMaps refuses to rotate the map into orientation -- it always shows "north up". And yes i did disable "always north up" and kept pressing the compass and centering-icon. Cleared data of google maps, then it worked after first starting it (the map would rotate) then after restarting the phone, it stuck to "north up" again. peculiar ...
