Unfortunately on my RedmiNote10Pro_global i still cannot update to 14.0.7.0 - it does not offer OTA and i did download 2 versions of the ROM i.e. the full ROM (which i think is a fastboot version) and the incremental update. put both in the updated_rom folder and the fon tells me "cannot verify update - other reason" - some say it has to do with pilot project, i did apply for pilot testing a few days ago but aparantly xiaomi won't let me... so i guess just have to wait but it sounds promissing.
    Will wait for the update and not fiddle around some more because i hope the update will work all in all, fix the Maps problem and keep everything, especially the banking software - my bank is quite strict e.g. it reacts "upset" if i just add one more finger to my finger print idendity and it then says that i must newly login with password, re-verify my device (beca8se something has changed in the fingerprind id system) and i then must scan a special type of qr code (in color) etc. so i hope the update leaves all those critical things alone and will just wprk when it finally comes to me ;)

      rolandschweiger, 18 Oct 2023there seems to be rolling out a MIUI 14.0.7.0 version to nu... moreI haven't tested in my old 10 Pro, but in the latest Android 13 - MIUI 14.0.6 I got for my 12 Pro 5G, I think they did fix the Google Maps compass issue. Been testing it for a while and it doesn't freeze like it did before. Can't say 100% it is a win, but so far looks like it. So they must be deploying the fix to the rest of devices that were affected (which I think it is all the Xiaomi phones who got Android 13)

        there seems to be rolling out a MIUI 14.0.7.0 version to numerous phones. Having the Global variant of RedmiNote10Pro I looked for the ROMS with ...TXMIXM
        Found a few versions on the internet that have just been released, put them in the downloader_rom folder and tried updating ... get the common error "can't verify ROM - other reason" (i get it in German "Update kann nicht überprüft werden - anderer Grund")
        Most likely Xiaomi is still having this for pilot testers or similar?
        Read somewhere that poco phones also ger such an update and someone said that the compass problem with GoogleMaps was finally fixed.
        So i hope this thing will come OTA or i will keep looking on the firmware download sites or is there some safe trick to get the downloaded thing updating? anyhow there is slight hope that things will change for the better .... as stated so often here, i am very pleased with the device and i really like it and everything *except* the compass on Maps works brilliantly fast (8 GB of RAM + 256 GB of storage are really fine) and even though it is only USB 2.0 it can still transfere decent large amounts of files via the cable (yes it is approx 50 MB/s and still faster as on most fast proclaimed wLANs);
        will keep you informed .....

                Switch to 60Hz refresh rate for display and uninstall unimportant app.
                Use battery manager to optimise battery after scanning running apps.

Literally same socAlbeit with Dolby Vision the Note 10 Pro lacks, and especially without the macro (a telephoto lens, a treat for macro photography even if it would really have benefitted of a better sensor) the same phone has.
