I'm using it sice 2 month now + some tweaks rooted and custom Kernel(strix) better battery backup.
Enjoying it now😁

Anonymous, 03 Apr 2024Note 10 Series is gonna EoS/L this year & will no longe... morei don't like custom ROMs. There's always something that does not work properly and there are often more things that won't work properly than with stock ROMs. The 256GB variant of Global redmi note 10 pro is so far still very good, i have a model and 2 of my neigbours too. We live in the EU (Vienna, Austira) and actually i don't know what is the difference between global and EEA versions? Global work just fine. Managed to activate Xiaomi's podometer / stride counter in "info assistent" and it seems to be more exact than any wrist watch :-) Also managed to ged rid of adds. As GooglePlayServices and GooglePlaySystemUpdates and all the Google apps like Phone, Contacts, Calendar... are regularily updated i can live without the Android system updates for a while. Yes i know that drivers are compiled "woven" into the system and cannot fully be externally updated yet Google is making a good job trying to debundle the system. To me it's still a good phone for a good price and i would like to keep it for a few years, actually have one spare. any ideas or suggestions?

Surprisingly, my phone is still good. 1 year and 7 months now, no issue at all. I do play some moba games and use a phone cooler while playing. Hope it lasts for another year or 2.

Still, it seems there will be no HyperOS for it. Maybe it's time to try a custom ROM.

EOS (end of support) for RN10Pro - does anyone have details?
OK so me too i read that this device is on the EOL list. Yet i am wondering what exactly does this mean? If it only means that the phone will not get HyperOS, let it be.
I know there were always problems with the indian version but i have the GLOBAL variant and there is also the EEA variant (for Europe).
Will this really mean that there will be no more Android security updates? Mine is at october 2023 with MIUI 14.0.8.0.
I don't want to complain all too much, i know that the mobile phone market somehow works like this and that devices are thrown onto the market and retracted like spring and automne fashion. And i personally don't take this too serious because thankfully Android is getting more modular ----- the Google Play Services (in my case with the suffix ...190400) will still be updated or one can do that from e.g. APK mirror,
and also the Google Play Systemupdates (currently march 01, 2024) will still go ahead.
Yet ist somehow is sad because it really is a good device.
Does anyone know more? Will the global version at least get one more security patch?

g., 11 Mar 2024more problems i've had with the phone which i've ... moreI have the same swipe down issue. Usually happens after closing an app that was opened in Fullscreen such as games or videos/movies. Quick fix that works for me is to just lock and then unlock the phone. Works fine afterwards.

slightly OT: changing file-naming-scheme in MIUI / camera app?
When taking photos/videos with the stock camera app, the files get specific names which include date and time in their file names, which of course is a very sensible thing to do. So e.g. the filename of a photo would be something like
IMG_20240313_165002.jpg
obviously indicating that the pic was shot on the 13th of march 2024 at 16:50 and 02 seconds.
Now i happen to be in the constellation where my friend has exactly the same phone type (RN10Pro) and we often take pics round about the same time.
At home i copy them to a PC folder and being lazy i don't want to make separate folders for each phone.
So inevitably sometimes we have taken pictures IN EXACTLY THE SAME SECOND so the file names will be identical an any copy-program / Windows filemanager etc. will prompt something to ask for override/new file etc.
My question --- is there some trick (without rooting etc.) to make the phone change the naming order, e.g.
PIC_20240313_165002.jpg
or at least changing the order-scheme of the date format e.g.
IMG_13032024_165002.jpg
Yep this is a miner problem :-) but can be annoying :-)

10) My data plan commences on the 17th of each month. Despite setting the date as 17, it changes to the new plan on the 1st of the month. This, like all the other problems, didn't happen the first year or so. Each of the problems listed came to be one at a time as usage of the phone went on.

I typed a long feedback but it got rejected. So, here it is again, one by one.
NOTE: I have already done a factory reset but it hasn't worked.
9) I set many apps to work under wifi conditions only, since my data plan is low. Yet, even then, when data and wifi are both on and connected, some apps like Instagram WILL STILL USE DATA though i've unticked the data boxes in the connection settings!

more problems i've had with the phone which i've owned now for 2½ years:
6) the pull-down menu sometimes has no response. So instead of being able to quickly turn off wifi and turn data back on, i have to go into Settings to do it
