i buy this phone,then i a... moreSometimes when it had update, certain apps &or features may not work properly.
Several methods;
1. Turn off and remove the SIM card. If you have an another working SIM card, then slot it in. Turn on the phone and let the phone do the activation. Then turn off and swap back your original SIM card and turn on. Let the phone do the activation, such as detecting 4G & reset the ISP APN (Access point names). Done.
2. Turn off and remove the SIM card. No spare SIM card to test. Never mind, put back the back-cover WITHOUT the SIM card. Turn on, as it would say No Network. Finally, Turn off and put the SIM card in. Then turn on and let the phone do the activation, etc. Done.
If both points 1 & 2 failed. Then do next.
3. Find another working SIM card and slot in to the phone. If it can detect new SIM card, and the phone can do the activation on 4G & APN.
This means your SIM card is having problem. Go and get an replacement SIM card.

To clear all other apps running, press+hold the middle button 'square'.
Then press the x to clear all apps running, thus release all ram.
Then you may able to surf without rebooting. Not enough ram, so reboot to clear all ram.
I use this method often, clear all rams so that the next app will have plenty of ram to use.

Browsing is smooth, provided your wifi & mobile data are having reasonable speed.
Camera, i don't use.
Redmi Note 3 is out, depend on which country, price a bit higher, but features are better than Note 2.
Do check the Note 3 pricing and compare with Note 2. If the difference in pricing is not much, then go for Redmi Note 3, with additional RAM.

Camera color accuracy is descent enough and battery life is good, but not great.
Camera - 7.5/10
Performance - 8/10 (gaming & internet browsing, apps)
Battery - 7.5/10
Software - MIUI is impressive. I did not experience any lag.
Display - FullHD & 400PPI, good but not great.
Price - 10/10
Overall: 7.5/10

Is this phone is good??? I wanted to trade my phone for this one. I'm not a heavy player so is it worth it? If I have a phone the only thing I play is the camera and browsing.

2. No warranty = either not for your country &or no warranty = export set. And small shops.
Any heating or fast battery draining issue is due to getting it from #2.
Anyway, most Xiaomi phone are in root state, as i did bought 1 from shop#2.
That was Redmi Note. There are almost all apps are malware.
Went to Xiaomi forum (check other post) and finally my own factory preloaded apps.

No problem. This depend on how you do the update. I have set on phone to inform me.
Best is for the phone (Xiaomi) to inform that update is available.
I had a bad experience on update from website myself.
All the languages gone, except for Chinese & English. And phone not stable.
This happened on another Note 2 which i decide to trade-in, as i have bought this current Redmi Note 2 from Retailer, with local warranty.
Do note that most Xiaomi phones are available for rooting.

For Internet, at the setting > SIM cards & mobile networks;
Below the Default Setting, you can select which SIM for internet access & Dial.
After you have switch to the other SIM card for internet, you have to go to SIM setting,
and confirm the APN setting.
Tested on mine Redmi Note 2.

If you have already updated to the latest ROM but you still have problems or you have new problems, it's possible that your update did not download completely due to faulty connection when you were downloading the update.
You have to do it all over again.
Go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for updates.
If your phone still says 'No updates available', you can do a re-update, as below.
Tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of this screen.
In the next screen, tap on 'Download update' and the downloading will start. Follow instructions until re-update is complete and you are asked to reboot.
Note that this is a *very large* system file and the download can take a while. It took me more than half an hour through a public Wifi hotspot. It is also best to *not* use the phone whilst you are updating. The update installs automatically and you will be asked to reboot. After rebooting, re-check all your settings and configurations; some will go back to default.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that
(1) You are connected to a reliable Wifi so that you will not lose the connection whilst downloading (if that happens, you will surely have problems). Downloading over Wifi works better than over a SIM card data plan.
(2) You have at least 50% battery in your phone before you start downloading the update. If battery is too low, the update may be only partial or may not complete. Whilst downloading, try not to use the phone and use up the battery.
