I too facing the problem for JIO sim. When I follow the above steps it's worked.

I am using Redmi note 3 since last six month. overall its good phone, only problem i am facing is network issue,,, Once mobile go to out of network, Mobile need to reboot to get it again in network... even in display it appear that signal are there, but while calling, mobile prompt that mobile is out of network.... this gives me trouble many time.... even internet is working during such period, you can not guise that your phone is not working. went to service center in Bhopal, its over crowded..... after waiting even for hour of two.... waiting is going on.

That's just your bad experience. I'm using my Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 650 Variant (3GB RAM, 32GB ROM) for 1 year and I've dropped it at least twice with the display facing down on hard floor (of course with a protective case on and tempered glass installed) and to my luck, not a single scratch. The camera lens is still like new with no scratch. I'm actually used to Redmi Note 3 and MIUI 8 so for this reason I'm using it as my daily driver. Build Quality, Design, Display, Touch, Sound Quality is very good and I'm using protective case and tempered glass for additional protection. As for the design, the only thing I don't like it the loudspeaker placement on the rear. Xiaomi has improved the design on Redmi Note 4. I wish the sound quality was a bit better. Camera is the main disappointment for me. In terms of performance, it has Snapdragon 650 Hexa-Core Processor with 2x powerful A72 Cores and 4x A53 cores. I've never experienced lags anywhere. I'm a heavy gamer and most of the graphics intensive games run very smooth and day to day usage is buttery smooth. In the software department, this phone was launched with MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and currently it's running MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. I don't like boring stock Android because you don't get many inbuilt customization features. MIUI 8 is perfect for my usage as it has many useful options (Quickball, Long Screenshots, Two Style of Notifications Bar - Combined and Separate, Uniformed Icons, Auto Call Recording, Lock Button in the toggles which turns off the screen so you aren't required to press the power button all the time to lock the screen, Smart Cover which utilizes the proximity sensor to turn off and on the screen when using a flip cover, option to use the volume keys to turn on the screen, options to customize the navigation buttons and you can even turn off their backlighting or disable them, built in advance calculator and compass app, advanced task manager which lets you select icons or app covers to be displayed and you can lock an app by swiping down so it doesn't get killed). I find the MIUI 8 to be a clean and smooth user interface and it offers lots of useful and customization features which I love. My RN3 never lags and is faster as I've turned on developers mode and set all the animations speeds at .5x. Although there are minor bugs which eventually get fixed so not a big issue. Another thing is that, I get consistent MIUI OTA updates. As for battery backup, it packs a huge 4000 mAh battery. I'm continuously using my phone (mainly using Chrome on 3G or 4G Network) and on a full charge I get 6-7 hours of SOT which is pretty good for a 5.5 inch full HD phone. Battery backup varies with different usage patterns and I'm satisfied with the backup that I'm gettin. With software optimization the battery backup can be improved more. Overall for me, this is one of the best phones I have ever used.
The only few things that I don't like about it-
1. Hybrid SIM Slot (Can't use 2 SIM & SD Card at the same time).
2. Camera quality is disappointing as I'm pretty interested in photography and used to take awesome pics with my previous phone. (InFocus M2 and I miss its camera quality)
3. Don't like non-removable batteries phone as you won't be able to know immediately once the battery has swollen and difficult to replace on your own.

Service centres not repairing components.
They are directly replacing main parts.
Its expensive, your motherboard not faulty to replacment.

I've mi 3, my phones sim tray got damaged while removing sim card, now person at service centre telling that whole motherboard is damaged as sim tray is attached to it, I need replace whole motherboard which is not worth, though my phone was working fine apart from recognising sim. How come motherboard is damaged?can anyone guide me regarding that?

Redmi note 3 is good cell phone but can not connect to LTE A network and xiaomi not support to fix this bug.

I'm from Russia, bought Redmi Note 3 Pro (RN3 snap650 version) in march 2016. Today, april 2017, no problems, all works fine, no any bug, defects, problems.
Check is your phone original, maybe this is not real Xiaomi. At my work office, 8 ppl with Xiaomi phones and nobody have any problems.

Please dont buy redmi any product . .. It will work for 2-3 month nicely and after that it will be totally defective... The most worst phone . Please don't buy

I was so enthusiastic when I bought Xiaomi. Unfortunately it just went dead in 8 months and I have been very careful with it and since I am thousand miles away from the shop I bought I could not ask to fix it for me. Actually I wasn't happy since the first months with the performance or maybe I had very high expectations but so disappointing :/

I'm loving this phone. Got it to replace my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that died with the EMMC error.
Running weekly global developer ROM 7.3.30 on Rogers. The developer ROM gets weekly updates and works so smoothly . Get good LTE speeds . Battery is incredible. Camera gets better with each new ROM too.
For the price , it is really hard to find something comparable from the big guys like Samsung, LG, etc.

I'm using this phone over a year now, it's still good as new. It's getting better and better everyday because development support is very good. MIUI updates aren't that good though but if you are going to use the China Dev ROM version, the updates are quite fast than the Global version. This is one of the most cheapest compact phone I have ever used.

I had redmi phones almost two years, First redmi note 2, it wasn't as good as I hoped, then I heard redmi note 3 was better so I got it, and it was much much better, performance, battery everything. I have it 10 months now and yesterday power button and volume buttons just stoped working, no response, also charger entrance loses contact. So I can say for sure that my xiaomi adventure is at its end.
