Please understand one thing - every hardware has a life span and every software has a valid time limit.

With OS like Windows,iOS, BB the device life is better than android.plus these is are more efficient at working when compared to hardware requirements.

I have a Windows 8.1 phone from past two years running smoothly at 512 ram. And yes it's a sturdy build piece.i am surely going to use for 2 more years at least, if I wish to.

Hence, if you are wanting to have a handset for long term use, please consider a well synced package of hardware and software. A good research on your own in matter will help coz you know your requirements better than anyone else.

Note 7 exploded from inside then how external steel case will help? It is only to protect it from outer damages.

So think about it and reply with your name ( rather than anonymous) so that I can suggest your name for credits of such wonderful ideas.

Be sure Nokia, Samsung and Xiaomi give due credits for helpful suggestions from users.

Mario G, 23 Jan 2017Black color is one of good looking device so far compared t... moreYes comparing with other two colours black is okay. But it looked good in the promo in black, when seeing in review videos it doesn't look good. Redmi should have a dark grey variant like Lenovo P2 for eg. Redmis grey is actually the silver variant with black front bezels. I was disappointed after purchasing 3s prime in grey. So wanted new black note. But I think I will pass Redmi for now.

          "SD625"
Seriously?????? Man that is SO MUCH of a downgrade from the 650 in the RN3P.........

What a lame snapdragon variant of the phone, might as just stick to the Helios X20.

I'm using it from November'16. It's good for the price, comparable to Samsung j7. Camera, music is ok enough. Phone has premium feel & look but a bit heavy which pains in night while you are on your bed holding the phone. Miui is much irritating, almost everything 3rd party programs even there is no genuine android keyboard. There is a huge lack of experiencing stock Android. Battery performance is poor though I've blocked all the bloatwares.

Redmi Note 4 should have come with SD 653 or 652 or the same SD 650 that was in the Redmi Note 3.

The big difference with Redmi Note 3 Pro is only design, 64gb+4gb, cpu, same camera f/2.0 but downgrade to 13mp in back.. This is upgrade or what ? What Xiaomi doing in 1 year bringing us only this thing ?
And too bad they release Note 3 Pro without 64gb+4gb last year eh

I've read almost all the comments here, there & everywhere since the morning of the launch day in India. Now here's my opinion.

Xiaomi made a huge mistake last year by launching the RN3 with SD 650 & pricing it at INR 12K for the 32 GB variant in a spec-obsessed & price sensitive market like India. This caused a chaos in the sub-10K price segment & a chain reaction of sorts. Since, due to this, a relatively unknown company like LeEco had to price their mid-range flagship, the Le 2, the same in order to mark their presence in India & grab people's attention (even if they were making a tiny loss on each handset sold, just like the Yu Yureka from 2 years ago), which they otherwise could've easily launched for around INR 15-18K. Now, because of the Le 2 being priced so low, they relatively had to price the Coolpad Cool 1 at a much more economical price of INR 14K, even though it being an okay upgrade over the Le 2 with it's dual camera set up, bigger battery, higher RAM & a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Now, solely due to this very reason, most people are comparing the RN4 with these 2 LeEco handsets & even the RN3, but not with the other similarly speced handsets which use the same chipset. For instance the Lenovo P2, which although has a much better Amoled display, an impressively higher capacity battery & a near-stock Android experience, but at the same time an equally disappointing camera & no IR blaster, & is priced at around INR 5-6K higher depending on the variant. Also the Moto Z Play, which has a Super Amoled display too, a fantastic camera, a fast charging & long lasting battery & of course a no nonsense, stock Android experience, but it's priced at more than double to the RN4 (when compared to the 3 GB, 32 GB variant). Even the Asus Zenfone 3, which has a gorgeous & slim design, gorilla glass protection on both sides, amazing camera features & USB Type-C connector (same as the Moto Z Play), but not so impressive battery life as compared to the others & again costs more than double to the RN4 (depending on the variant).

Instead, it would've been better if Xiaomi would've launched the RN3 with SD 617 (as done by many of the competitors like Coolpad Note 5, Moto G4 & G4 Plus, Nubia Z11 Mini to name a few, which're priced similar or even higher) & included a crappy 13 MP Samsung camera sensor in place of a similarly crappy 16 MP Samsung sensor (BTW, RN4 uses a supposedly better 13 MP Sony sensor, but the results say otherwise), a lower capacity 3000-3500 mAh battery (again, same as most of the competition) & possibly a 5.5" HD display with just a mediocre 720p resolution (remember the Coolpad Note 3S priced at INR 10K?).

Agreed, if this would've been the case, then RN3 wouldn't have broken so many records & proven to be the highest selling Xiaomi handset ever in India. But at least then the people would've considered the RN4 a legendary & phenomenal upgrade & fallen head over heels in love with it, making it an international sensation overnight. But unfortunately, that's not the fact as we Indians are obsessed about the numbers, spec-sheet & extra features (even if some of us don't even use most of them to their full potential anyway), rather than the real world & day-to-day experience.

Truth be told, Xiaomi spoiled us Indians with the RN3 & dug the grave for the RN4 with it's very own hands. To be fair, in a perfect scenario, as a next generation Redmi Note, the RN4 ideally should've at least had an upgraded chipset (possibly SD 652/653, as was being expected by most fans), apart from other minor upgrades. But as we know, life isn't always fair & perfect after all. So, my point is, those who like it, buy it, those who don't, stay away & stop trolling. Although, existing RN3 users, better avoid it.

Now, this is just my personal opinion. So haters, please keep your judgement & criticism to yourself. Thank you all!
