It is the MIUI implementation, which you can set which apps is allowed to run in background and don't let MIUI closed it automatically.

Awesome Phone. No issues at all. MIUI 8.5 and Android 7.0 working great. The best phone I ever had.

In theory, it might be tune-able in /proc/sys/vm
By all means though, it's not a problem with the phone, just with the Android.

It's the worst phone because of its screen glass. It will definitely break. I have met around 10 people whose screen is broken because it is made of cheap material. Even with a slight impact it breaks. Just go to any service centre you will find many people fir replacement of this glass.

the Redmi note 4 RAm is a big frigging joke! I have a 4 GB Ram and never ever see morethan 1.9 GB ram after shutting down all other processes and apps. the system takes 2.1 GB of ram just to run!! so its a frigging rip off to charge us for 4 GB ram more than half of which we never see.!

How to connect PC on Redmi no... moreKD bro redmi note 4 dosnt supports usb to laptop or pc tethering so just buy a wireless-N mini USB adapter for ur pc that will accept the wifi which you tether from ur mobile phone.this device will cost you approx 200-500 and it gives a good speed experience rgt now im using it seriously no issues.

Don't drool over the "3GB" RAM of this device and go all like "wow this is massive!"..2 gigabytes of RAM are reserved to system so u can only use 1 or 1.3 of 3 gigabytes so yes you'll still have that annoying situation when u switch to another app and find it's restarting .. Nougat update is taking over.. Google is already working on android 9 and all modern phones has already upgraded to Oreo 8 but Xiaomi is still "beta testing Nougat 7"

Also the charge duration is highly dependent on:
a) your adapter/power supply rating
b) cable resistance
c) value set in /sys/class/power_supply/battery/constant_charge_current_max
I'm using 5V/2A (10W) charger, which finishes charging in just under 2 hours from near 0%
However in normal situations, I have the "constant_charge_current_max" set to 500000 (0.5A) for 7-8 hour charge. The reason for this is that the phone doesn't heat up when charging slowly and slow charging also prolongs battery expected lifespan (combined with charging to 80% not to 100%)

However yes, every new Android is heavier than the last, 7.1.1 takes 1.2GB of RAM even with nothing on it.

I find RMN4 perfect for my usage, but I certainly wouldn't consider it normal use.
