ms, 04 Sep 2017we have waited very long for android N update, but you are ... moreOperating System update is not an option, but it is a must. If anyone do not updates his device than he/she will not get security patches. And it will make his device less secure.
And also every update is not smooth. Sometimes we have son unexpected issues. I will not say that I will solve every issue. But after OS update it is a best idea to "hard reset" the device and start fresh.
Last but not least I am saying this for very device, no matter it is tab, fab or phone.

Redmi note 4 don't upgrade to N version because this version is not suitable for the device.Marshmallow version is awesome to the device.so don't change the OS version & phone is awesome like a butter.running so smoothly.battery backup is just mindboggling.

After one week of my review MIUI 9 7.8.31. Split screen working fine, MIUI 9 super fast and super performance. But I faced some lags on Facebook. Otherwise no problems faced on MIUI 9.

IndoUser, 02 Sep 2017After i update to android N miui 8.5, my phone is "broken".... moreTake back up of your every data online and offline. And remove any memory card if you have one. Now do a hard reset of the device.
Once it is done. Now first check for update first. Than install all your essential apps from Google Play store. Please do not install any APK from any site.
Last but not least copy every thing on your memory card to a desktop/laptop first. The. Format the card using the device. Now after format copy your data to the card acoording to the folder system it shows.
Last but not least install Jio Security (if your Jio user) or any good anti virus app on your device. Hi I will solve all your issues. Regards.

Redmi note 4 (64G, 4G ram) once was great budget smartphone. Advice never update the firmware. Cause it's unnecessary and troublesome.
After updated to MIUI global 8.5.4.0,
1st thing to mention it's no more suitable for online game cause during gaming the 4g network is often disconnected & connected. Even have gone through all possible settings to turn off the power saver.
2nd, the GPS is not always ready like before, always turn off while you switch to other app, it's mean that it take longer time to search your current location when open the map and u can't switch to other app during navigation cause the GPS will be turn off automatically.
Both problems seem like new update going optimized the battery performance, but for me it is just stupid upgrade, since the phone has large battery but it is just optimized for calling and social media.

Heavily modificiet OS is never good idea to upgrade, better wait for Xiaomi 5 and buy it. Hopefully it comes with android 8

Poor voice quality, camera with less resolution, calculator doing wrong calculations, overall fed up with this substandard product.

After i update to android N miui 8.5, my phone is "broken". There are many bugs... My phone did not vibrate when it got notification or incoming call. It only fibrate when i change to fibration only mode. But incoming call never vibrate in any mode (and thats suckkkkkk!!!!!). I never know if i had an incoming call.... (And my dad mad at me because i dont answer his call).
And another problem is the notification bar is just empty. For example when i got line message, the only thing that apear in the notification bar is just the line logo, and i dont know the one who send that message. so i have to open line to know the sender. The pop up notification also gone
And the notification in the lock screen also disapear...
I'f try many ways to fix this problem, but i never found the solution.....
Is anyone face the same problem like mine?
Or can someone help me to fix my problem?
