My wife had a noto 3 pro because she did not want order it and wait one month. She bought it in a normal shop.
I bought my note 4 through the internet.
Seems my wife phone has a snapdragon chip and mine a mediatek chip.
In real normal life I do not notice any difference. Her phone does not look so good. Screens about the same.
Battery life also the same.
For normal ppl it does not matter what chip. They both work just fine. Mine looks better. Camera?? About the same. Hers has more pixels but result about the same.
We do not flash phones or roots them. That said...we do not even know what it is.
I tested the phones to see which opens apps faster. The 4 is faster but by a millisecond or so. Does not matter. So I think the snapdragon mediatek thing is just for nerds. In real life you will not notice it.

All issues are fixed by the current firmware development. RN3 exists in different versions with very different specs. RN4 MTK is definitely better than the RN3 MTK, while the RN3 pro (with Snapdragon SoC) has arguably the better gaming performance. There is no RN4 version with a SN SoC (yet?).
I am writing this on an RN4 which I like very much looking at the value for money. If you want LTE have a close look at the available bands! No band 20 on the RN4 which is highly important in Europe.
