Max Pro M1 and M2 has tons of bugs that really bad, while their performance as gaming phone are not special at all. I my self use Max Pro M2, and regret a lot buying this one. my previous phone Redmi Note 5 even better than Max Pro M2, higher chipset mean nothing in this case.

Did you do all the observations yourself? Though I am not a gamer, and based from what you said, I understand that only in gaming the Pro M1 and M2 were a lot better than Note 7. But in normal use, M1, M2, and Note 7 pretty has the same battery life. If that's so, I will still choose the Note 7 for its cameras.

Is Asus good in software? Though I know MIUI has many bugs and ads, many are complaining about the software quality of M1 and M2.

I am now choosing between Pro M2 and Note 7.

New Customer, 31 Jan 2019Please advise, what would be the best phone which is also b... moreI carefully checked 100+ phones and I found that Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 & M2 are best phones in their price range. Their only rival is Redmi Note 7 but it falls short in certain aspects, like battery & performance. But it also leads in others like in having newer OS but that's not as important.

                  Performance:
M2's performance is perfect. PUBG runs perfectly smooth in HD Graphics, High Frame Rate - even while driving a car.
Note 7 & M1 lag noticeably (still not much) during driving.

However, note that *M1* *3GB variant* lags in PUBG if you use a screen recorder app while playing PUBG. Haven't checked whether Note 7 & M2 can handle that kind of load yet.

                  Battery with continuous:
                  - PUBG on HD graphics, High Frame Rate lasts 7-8 hours (Note 7 lasts 4.5 - 5 hours & M1 lasts about 7 hours).
                  - Asphalt 9 lasts 8-9 hours.
                  - Offline video playing lasts about 17 hours.
                  - Instagram video playing lasts 16+ hours.
                  - YouTube 14+ hours.
                  - Camera battery lasts 7.5+ hours.

                  OS: Oreo
M1 & M2 are said to get Pie OS this February while Note 7 already runs on Pie. However, Note 7 has MIUI which puts extra load on the device, shows Ads - lowering the device's performance, battery timing and may take up extra storage. This might be the reason why its performance is equal to M1 in PUBG even though it has SD 660.

Whereas M1 & M2 run on Stock Android which is a big advantage - no extra load on the phone, better battery, performance and stability. So even while running on Oreo, M1 & M2 are already better in terms of software performance than Note 7.
M1 is one of the few phones with SD 636 Chipset that can play PUBG smoothly at High Graphics, High Frame Rate and I believe it owes it to how Asus likes to configure its phones' Kernel and Stock Android.

                  Built Quality:
The built quality of both M1 & M2 is spectacular. They were dropped 6 times from 6 feet above at all angles except corners on a tiled floor. M1 was *perfectly fine* while M2 had a tiny scratch at the corner but that's all the harm it got. They aren't water proof but they were placed in water for 1 minute and still worked perfectly fine after drying.
It should last at least 3+ years, imo.

Missing LTE Band 12, So it will not work well in the US with T-Mobile, ATT.
This is unfortunate, perhaps a version "Special US" will be release sometime soon?
For Now, Samsung and some Huawei models are a better choice (for the US)...

Everything is working fine so far. and lets be real no matter what hardware a phone uses 70-80% performance depends on Software Optimization. Even my RN4x camera performs better than any other camera with GCAM. but of course companies will gonna launch phone every year with different name because of money.
anyway my advice if you want a phone to run 5-10 years smoothly go with any Flagship Phone. i am sure you will not gonna regret it. (or get a POCO F1 , Flagship performance in Cheap price)
