If you have official xiaomi channel in your country, then you can likely buy it at official price if you buy fast when they have stock. If demand is high and official channel couldn't cope with the demands, retailers will still sell at higher price perhaps $10-30 higher. Usually 2-3 months after official launch in your country, the official channel will be able to cope the demands better, the reseller's price will drop only slightly higher. At least this is my experience in my country.
But if you don't have official channel and must depend solely on resellers to get one, that will complicate matters.

The Doubter, 26 Jan 2019On paper Redmi Note 7 seem to have a great specs but I doub... moreI believe the 48MP shot is not interpolated. It is a real 48MP , but only with color information equal to a 12MP sensor because GM1 only sends 1 color signal for each matrix of 2x2 cell even in Pro mode, so the ISP only sees & process it like an ordinary 12MP sensor. In other words, it is a real 48MP photo but with color information equal to a normal 12MP camera. The ISP is more concern about the # of signals / color information to be processed, and it assumes 1 cell = 1 signal (like normal camera), but it doesn't know pixel binning at camera level, because the camera only sends 12MP color signals/information even when there are 48 megapixels. The ISP uses "pixels" because it only assumes 1 pixel = 1 color information = 1 signal.
In SonyIMX586, each cell can work independently even in 48MP shooting mode, so the camera will send full 48MP signal from each cell to the ISP as a normal 48MP camera would do (at the cost of less light sensitivity). Only in pixel-binnnig mode , IMX586 will apply quad-bayer matrix of 2x2 cell to produce 1 larger pixel which is more light-sensitive ......but in doing so, that means only 12MP photo and less color information at the same time because the matrix of 2x2 cells will only produce 1 signal of color information to be processed by the ISP.
So, the difference between GM1 and IMX586 is not about its 48MP pixels...because they both do real 48M...but it is about how much color information is contained in each shot. In GM1 sensor, the 48MP shot will only have color information equal to only 12MP sensor, while in IMX586, it is a real full 48MP color information. So, the 48MP shot from IMX586 will have better detail (perhaps slightly better), but It is NOT about resolution.
Sure it is not a real 48MP camera like IMX586 which sends a real 48MP color information to be processed by the ISP.
