Asnaf K, 21 May 2020I bought a phone for redmi note 8 the yesterday. But now it... moreSame case. I've been using this for a year. Light use only. But recently. Don't know is it the miui 11 updat the battery drain really fast. Most of which when the phone is idle. I only get like 5 hours of use (Facebook - no video, WhatsApp, shopee, no game time) and the rest of the battery is when it's idle. That's really bad. Any solutions?

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2020I agree with u.
I have been using a redmi note 8 ( 6gb + ... more-Slow because of eMMC storage.
-camera is booting slow for me.
-battery is 8h SoT for me, no battery saver enabled.
-you have to disable vibration / haptic feedback for the keyboard (gboard) itself.
-Updates? What updates, LOL.
-If you remove WhatsApp from Autostart, you will never see notifications again.
-full of useless bloat you can't remove
Conclusion: Second biggest mistake of my life.

khalidmahmud, 12 Oct 2020excuse me, I have been using it for two months, and it is v... moreI agree with u.
I have been using a redmi note 8 ( 6gb + 128 gb) for 5 months now.
I had brought this phone( Redmi note 8) on 25 may 2020 just because my budget was tight.
Can I can say this is the worst decision I have ever made.
This phone has several problems that I noticed within a month like :-
> very slow when compared to other phones released in 2019 and even phones released in 2018 are better than Redmi note 8
> the camera always has a issues ( the 8 mp rear camera takes too long to focus the image and still gives a partially blur image)
> the battery saver mode works when it wants to work ( sometimes the battery drains like hell.... It loses all the battery within 3 hrs)
> when the Viberations are kept off, it still viberates when I use the on screen keypad.
> also u must keep using the phone cleaner every now and them else ur apps will start working slow or the screen might hang or the apps simply closes
> sometimes the phone screen just goes off when u bring ur finger close to the screen.
>U have to wait for a long time as Xiaomi just don't care about timely updates
( redmi note 8 has still not received MIUI 12 update and Android 10 which we had to get in May 2020)
>And Xiaomi hasn't even included Redmi note 8 in the list of Xiaomi devices that will be getting Android 11 ( phones like Oneplus 6/ 6t which were released in 2018 are getting Android 11)
I am fed up with this phone

I am using Redmi Note 8. It's working fine with dual sim. But I removed airtel 4g sim and inserted after one hour. The sim slot is not working. I tried both sim slots.

Actually is not a bad phone, but the connectivity issues make the phone actually trash, and there's no fix for that

Using this phone for about year now and I like it a lot !
Performance - very good
Camera - install gcam and it will become much better
Battery - for me it last for about 1.5 - 2 days (i check social media often and using video chat)
Only problem that i have is with microphone. It start to use some kind of high noise cancellation, but after restart it is fixed.
I hope that upgrade to MIUI 12/Android 10 will fix that problem.

the battery of this phone is great but if you want to find something more then,
How to extend battery life,
To prolong the life of your battery pack, keep these tips in mind for proper lithium-ion battery care. The lifespan of your li-ion or li-po,battery should last between 300-500 charge and discharge cycles,(depending on the manufacturer) which usually amounts to 2-3 years. The trick is how to prolong those cycles,In short if I want my battery to last longer, I shouldn’t charge it above 85%, and don't let it discharge below 25% battery level. At this range, you receive the best balance of depth of discharge and runtime. If you stay in this zone, you can maximize your battery use and retain that healthy battery life for a much longer time.Li-ion or Li-Po batteries are designed to perform its best between 30 percent and 80 percent capacity so, once the battery hits lower than 30, feel free to charge your smartphone already.
Likewise, once the charge hits 85 percent,(MAX 89% ! ) you really don't need to wait for your phone to reach 100 percent anymore, you can check this in battery- power consumption details- battery usage- and you will see how this cycle does not count here,(there you will see the battery life or the last charge, but if you charge up to 100% after each charge it resets and starts from 0, which means that another cycle is taken away)
(Discharging the battery to 0% is the biggest destroyer).
Think of you battery as the human body throughout the day. You don't really need to wait like you're about to die to take some rest and recharge yourself and you also don't need a perfect eight or nine hour sleep to be able to function at full capacity.
the fact that it destroys the battery is heat, so when you use the phone for a long time
or you play games on it he heats up, so it is better to remove ' silicone back cover '.
This is from detailed research and also personal experience, because I have an older phone and after 5 years use on this method of charging the battery lasts the same as when it was new, of course this is my experience and you don't have to do it and I just share what's good for your battery and definitely works.
