I have to upgrade my pho... moreFirst things first. Out of all Xiaomi phones, Redmi Note 7 has the most complaints. It's strong against drops but its battery endurance and performance are much lower than just about any other phone with same specs.
There are also a lot of defective units of RN7, as you'll find in reviews of RN7.
It indeed has a great camera with excellent support from Gcam developers and that's the only thing I can recommend it for - but it's not a rival of Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Redmi Note 8 has much less complaints than RN7 and has a similar camera. It also supports Gcam. It's honestly much more reasonable choice than RN7, even more for you since you aren't into gaming (many games still aren't fully optimised for SD665) .
- Regarding complaints about signal reception, just about all Xiaomi phones have this problem. It might be due to the difference in frequency bands they use in China vs user's host country, but just know it'll be same for almost all Xiaomi phones.
Lastly, Redmi Note 8 Pro is in a completely other league than those other phones. Anyone that still thinks mediatek chipsets are bad doesn't know anything about phones and is simply misguiding you.
It's much superior than RN7 and RN8 be it in camera, performance or battery endurance. It's getting *regular updates*. Its chipset Helio G90T is equivalent of Snapdragon 730G, so even if somebody thinks mediatek is bad, saying SD660 or SD665 is better than Helio G90T is plain stupid.
It also supports Gcam and I really like its slowmo (RN7/8 can't make as good slowmo due to chipset limitations).
FYI: All Mediatek Helio P60 phones outperform Redmi Note 7 in games FPS and battery endurance.
Helio P60 is a rival of Snapdragon 660/665.

I agree the pro version has a better design but at the expense of its weight, that thing is heavy. But since it's mainly storage u are concerned. Any of these phone will be fine since most of them has 128 variant, but rn 8 pro has the best camera among all.

I am suddenly not receiving notifications unless I open the app. All notifications! Except for calls and texts of course. This phone is so tiring ffs

People i need your honest advice!
I have to upgrade my phone and i am reading and doing a lot of research on many recent phones, especially the ones for the best value. I have narrowed it down to Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7T, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8T and the Redmi Note 8 PRO.
The main usage for me are lots of space, fast and smooth handling without lag, excellent camera and lots and lots of apps for work and social media marketing. I do not play games - maybe one or two i will play on my phone but this is once or twice a month. But i do store a lot of files and photos and videos for apps like IG, FB, Youtube and many other more. This phone will mainly be used for work and photos.
My friend has the Redmi Note 7 and he can't stop buzzing about the camera. I used it a few times and the camera is excellent. This brings me to the question - Of the five phones - RN7, RN7T, RN8, RN8T, and RN 8 PRO which is my best option? Does it make sense buying RN8 over the RN7 if there camera is much better in the 7? I can't decide. It terms of design and looks i love the RN8 PRO but i heard that the mediatek is not a good chipset. The RN8 is goodlooking too. I just can't decide. Money is not an issue. But if i can save some money i would. Please help and give as much convincing responses! Thank u!

Lsk, 03 Feb 2020I get only 5 hrs sot . Is it normal ? Try and make peace with your network.. When signal is weak the phone will suffer by trying to search for good network coverage which damages the battery performance

Lsk, 03 Feb 2020I get only 5 hrs sot . Is it normal ? I get 9.5h minimum and over 10.5h maximum with 3 - 3.5 days of use.
