Horrible video playback. Really the one thing that makes this phone a no go. Not just YouTube, but movie trailers that I must assume at HD on Flixster. The quality is just terrible.

Hi,
On my yt channel I posted a playlist ("Redmi Note 8 pro first impressions") with a few videos with my findings about this phone. Main issue is connecting an external mic to the phone. It often does not work. Is this a bug? As workaround I use an audio splitter to solve this. Let me know in the comments of my video what your opinions are.

I can get somewhere around 6-8 hours screen on time with social media and some gaming. If you don't want to buy this phone for gaming, there will be no heating issues and no battery issues. So, even if you game, even if you don't, this phone is a good one and it will be a pretty decent one in 2-3 years. You will maybe have to change the battery to a service for somewhere around 50$ or less in like 1.5-2 years. I can't say this for sure but a battery lasts for about 1-2 years until you can see some degradation on the screen on time. I hope that this helps. Have a nice day / night!
