Is this a good buy now? Or is it obsolete already? Price dropped so low i'm tempted to go for it, but I don't change phones often, i plan to take something that will last me few years

Yes Sammy are great phones with decent build but exactly 1yr in ur on ur own. No updates whatsoever and ur have to root it and install custom rom
At least mi will give you 3 major updates.
Its confirmed N8Pro will be getting android11 this year.
As soon as it's out of support it will be rooted and custom rom and stretch usability for another few yrs

I know note has better specs but Samsung has apparently been quality and reputation but I'm afraid of the ads running on the os, so I'm 50/50
Galaxy: better screen, battery
Note 8 pro: better camera, supposedly, I'm not a pro, but I guess that a better system. It's too complicated for me.

N untill today it performs really well. In fact better than the redmi note 9 pro and the redmi note 10 series that is going to launch soon.

Anyone facing wifi issue? There were times that when I play CODM I sometimes experience no internet connection issue though I'm just near the router. My son owned a Huawei Y9 (2019) and me RN8Pro, we were playing CODM and there I lose internet connection while my son just kept on playing without internet interruption.

My co-worker has a note 8 pro, and I've got a realme 6 for my girlfriend as a new years present. They are literally the same phone, with minor differences. The choice basically is between side mounted fingerprint reader on the realme and back mounted reader on xiaomi. Also realme is a tad smaller, but you don't notice the difference if they both are put in cases.
The biggest difference is in the os skins. Realme is closer to the stock Android.
I'm upgrading from my 2016 phone in a month, and haven't decided myself which one of them I want.
